Decent sales record, but looks mostly to pubs and imprints which don't require agents.

Their submission guidelines has the following:

"We review manuscripts only if never sent out to publishers"

Is that normal?

Well, I've sure as hell never heard of that before. I can't imagine any author agreeing to such a policy.

On the other hand, how would they know?

Well, I imagine no agent would like to take on your MS, only to find out you'd already subbed it to many of the publishers she had in mind. However, I too have never seen that condition in agent guidelines before.

CaoPaux notes that this agent mainly deals with publishers who don't require agented submissions. So the agent might run into the already-subbed problem more frequently than others.

I have some dated info. Pema's husband and business partner, Perry Browne, was my agent in the late '90s. He passed away in 2001. Anyway, they were responsive and energetic in working on my behalf. I was satisfied with this agency. Our relationship ended with Perry's death; Pema simply didn't handle my genre.
