3626 I dunno about all the mathematics versus magic stuff. If we had a 12-based number system instead of a 10-based system we'd see other patterns and wonder the same thing. Does this mean there is an ultimate reality that exists no matter how we represent it, or is it just a fluke of the systems we use?

*mind melts at heavy question and goes to get peanut butter and crackers*

3627 and if they close the thread at 27K they'll start a part 2 and we'll keep going. We'll just have to be more diligent on keeping the count instead of relying on the post number.

I might even be published by then, given the rate this thread and my querying are going....

OMG. I can't imagine actually relying on my continuity skills. Oxymoronically to the 3628th degree. Maybe if we hurry hard we could get finished before Mac notices that we've passed the 27K mark 37 or so times. :)

It's really quite rudimentary. All we have to do is start with zero and add one. We then add one to the previous sum, and add one to that until we reach 1,000,000. For example if the previous number were, say, 3628, the next number would be 3629. Now who can tell me the number after that? Hands?

3638 (I'm liking the sudden minimalist approach) (Oops, I just ruined it, didn't I?)
