Letters of the Century: America 1900-1999 edited by Lisa Grunwald and Stephen J. Adler

I strongly recommend this book to everyone! Simply awesome.

Not far into the book, on page 22 to be exact, Mark Twain nearly caused me to micturate from laughing out loud. It was his complaint letter to the President of the New York Western Union. Very few people cause me to laugh like that and of them I now favor a dead man. Figures!

The last line of Mark Twain's complaint letter as found in the above name book:

"Let bygones be bygones," I said, gently, "we are all erring creatures, and mainly idiots, but God made us so and it is dangerous to criticise."

Sincerely,
S.L. Clemens

I would have been in love with Mr. Clemens had I lived in his time.

Sincerely,
Gehanna
