For those of you who use a soundtrack for your novel, what's on it? Here's mine for THE DUFF.

  • “Shot To Pieces” by Skye Sweetnam
  • “Everything is Alright” by Motion City Soundtrack
  • “Dirty Sunshine” by Lillix
  • “Take Me Away” by Avril Lavigne
  • “Push” by Matchbox 20
  • “I Can’t Stay Away” by The Veronicas
  • “Easier To Run” by Linkin Park
  • “Breathing” by Yellowcard
  • “Bruised” by Jack’s Mannequin
  • “Swing, Swing” by The All-American Rejects
  • “The Way I Loved You” by Taylor Swift
  • “Sleep On It” by Saving Jane

I don't have one yet for my WIPs, other than the song "Swim" by Jack's Mannequin is definitely going on the Goldfish list.

My soundtrack for CoS is here on my blog. RED INK doesn't have one yet, but I think the songs "Let Go" by 3 Doors Down and "Runaway" by Thriving Ivory really fit Carter's character.

"hugs Red"
that's for having Paramore and Breaking Benjamin, my two fave bands, on your list. Plus, "Beautiful Disaster" and "Angels o the Moon" are, like, two of my favorite songs. Now I HAVE to read CoS. Let me know when I can buy it, 'kay?

I do songs for each character, too. Bianca's s "I Don't Care" by Skye Sweetnam, Wesley's is (don't laught) "Womanizer" by Britney Spears (shut up, it fits), and Toby's is "Nice Guys Finish Last" by Green Day.

Haha, it's okay - I keep WAITING for a character whose song is Womanizer. It could possibly apply to Cody, but there's so much more to him than that. For some reason whenever I write about Cody (the token boy character in angels-and-demons WIP) I listen to Suburbia by Butch Walker.

I know what you mean. There's more to Wesley, too, but that song just works (and it's Bianca's ringtone when he calls, lol) but if you asked him, he'd say his theme songis "Sexyback" by Justin Timberlake. He's an arrogant SOB, I guess.

lol, my name is KODY, not CODY, but it still makes me giggle when I see the name that sounds like mine. I'll have to listen to that song when I get a chance. Never heard it.

I'm dying to put Paramore in one of my sountracks, but nothing fits perfectly--maybe "We Are Broken" for Goldfish or even "When It Rains" maybe, but IDK, and it bugs me because Paramore is my FAVORITE BAND EVER!!! lol

Oh I know - I was so excited when "We Are Broken" fit into CoS. It's just a dystopian kind of song, you know? lol.

And Thriving Ivory is just awesome. The last bit of "Angels on the Moon" - "This is for one last day in the shadows/and to know a brother's love/this is for New York City angels/ and the rivers of our blood." That piece of the song hits like EVERY SINGLE PLOT POINT in CoS, lol. It was awesome.

LOL, Cody chose his own name. I don't really like the name Cody for a boy, but it just fit him.

lol, I LOVE Angels on the Moon. I was working on a WIP last year (I might write it again, but since it contained vampires, I put it away until the hype dies), and it fit a character in it PERFECTLY. One of my MC's best friends gets turned into vampire, and it's all tragic, and the words "I want to sunburn to know I"m alive" and the whole "Don't tell me if I'm dying/Cuz I don't want to know/If I can't see the sun/Maybe I sould go" was great. It makes me want to write that story again. DAMN TWILIGHT!!! lol

I love every song on that list, Steph. Especially Paramore and "The Freshman". I think that one will be on my Goldfish soundtrack, actually.

That's so funny! Paramore is Bianca's fave band in The Duff!! I wanted to fit one of their songs into The Duff SO BAD, but it didn't work out.

For my other WIP, which is unnamed, I just listen to the album Howl by Empires over and over and over.
