I didn't really write anything significant today, but I can justify my slacking by being featured on two other blogs! (Which, in all honesty, are probably more interesting than mine anyway.) Follow the chain of links! Making the Rounds

This past weekend, one of my blog entries went semi-viral on Twitter and garnered more pageviews in the space of a few hours than I got in the entire month of June combined.

It was crazy to experience, and today I shared a little about what I learned from it:

My First "Viral" Experience and What I Learned From It

Very cool, and interesting. As someone who just started blogging, I'm excited to see folks I've never met reading and commenting and tweeting about my pieces. I've had a very surprising volume of visitors, but nothing like the viral explosion you describe. Interesting that it was a more personal post that did it...and certainly one with a catchy title.

I'm encouraged that it wasn't your tweet that set off the explosion, but someone else's. I've embraced blogging belatedly but can't bring myself to tweet---will have to rely on the kindness of other tweeters.

A thread in the Mystery/Thriller/Suspense forum about Lee Child's take on busting writing myths has inspired today's blog post on "Tell Not Show"?
