Hi, I registered here about a week ago so I could get access to some of the private threads so I could absorb some of your sage advice about queries and agents. I figured I would never actually post, as you have already answered all my questions and I myself am not smart enough to be giving brilliant people such as yourselves advice.
I finished my novel, the first thing I thought was worthy of actually trying to get published, and last week I sent off queries to five brilliant, famous, talented agents repping incredible, amazing, superb books, figuring I'd get three rejection letters and two no answers at all after about six months, the first of hundreds of such disappointments...
So today I looked in my mailbox, and there's my SASE, and one of my top five agent choices wants my full manuscript! I'm going crazy, because now I have to (a) print it all out and (b) mail it. I thought I would figure this part out if and when an agent actually wanted to see the book (you know, after the hundredth form rejection letter and tenth request for a partial), but now I'm too stupid to think straight. In a good way, mind you.
Please, help me calm down! I'm literally bouncing off my walls. No really, I'm running into walls and bouncing.
