I got an R on Monday. But it came with a nice compiment about my writing and a request to look at other projects in the future. That was wonderful to hear.

Jason seems like a good guy to deal with. Very nice and professional.

Wow. He didn't ask to look at any further projects from me. I'm jealous...

Sent my query a few days ago and got a response to send out the first 10-15 pages. Sent it and just waiting to hear back...

I sent a query to him this morning and received a request for the first 10 pages an hour and a half later. I replied with the first ten pages and am now waiting to hear back.

It seems like the more we bombard him with queries, the less amount of pages he's been requesting in his partials. lol, it went from 50 to 15 to 10. We're wearing him out.

He was probably overwhelmed by the initial flood of queries. Now he's got less time to read.

I suspect he's learned what most learn very quickly: that 90% can be rejected in the first five pages.

He read my partial and responded three days later stating his reasons for not continuing with my partial.
Sadness....

Interesting how you all got personalized rejections. All I got was a form. I guess he really hated mine!

I got a very nice, personalized rejection off of my query.

I got a nice personalized rejection from him today.

I sent him ten pages with my query, which he appears to now ask for, and got a response from him yesterday with comments on my writing and a request for the full.

Thought I'd jump in here.

I follow AQ on Twitter and noticed they welcomed a new agent and her profile to their website a few days ago (Alyssa Reuben). So, I queried her on 6/08 with the first two chapters, she replied yesterday (6/10) with a very personal email, stating I definitely piqued her interest, she would love to read the rest, and to please send it her way.

And now comes the waiting.

After a flurry of activity from Jason, it's gotten rather quiet. Anyone get a response recently?

I queried Jason with a 2nd book May 8 and he rejected me in 4 days. So he's still responding. Now on to Alyssa!

Same here...he requested a partial on my YA...rejected later, and then when I queried on my adult project, he remembered me...which was a little scary. He had some good things to say about the sample chapter, but alas, a rejection.

Jason's been out of the country, he just got back at the first of the week. (Sent a status on my full and he said he hadn't gotten to read it yet.)

When I sent him my ms in April he said he had a lot of reading to do but to feel free to bug him in a few months. I figured I'd wait the usual 3.

I don't know why this scares me. He's not on P&E either. I'd love to know what becomes of all these partial requests.

I've just queried Jason, and now I wish I'd read about Alyssa first and queried her - she accepts middle grade, while I'm not sure whether Jason does. Oh well, I will soon find out!

I just sent Mr. Yarn a query and the first 15 pages from my novel "Hatchings". We'll see what happens.

Mr. Yarn responded in less than 24 hours, which is frankly astounding.

Unfortunately, the cut & paste from Word caused formatting problems.

Fortunately, he asked me to re-submit which I have promised to do by Monday.

I am favorably impressed even if this ultimately results in a rejection.

Where are you guys getting your info? Is there a list of books they rep anywhere, query guidelines, names of agents, what they are looking for, anything like that?

Also, did anyone see this? From the "most influential fake Hollywood news source."
