While traveling through a city, a young boy insists on becoming your MC's apprentice. The boy is very insistent, going so far as to follow them from city to city, and for some reason he seems able to find them wherever they go. Does your MC take him on as an apprentice or do they try to think of some way to get rid of the annoying brat?

MC from 40,000 years ago: cities don't exist yet and neither do apprentices, but say he was travelling through the land, near where another tribe was settled, and a young boy insists on my MC teaching him everything he knows... he'd be delighted. He'd start with teaching him how to find flint and the right kind of wood to make a bow and arrow and would soon have him hunting small animals and cooking them on a fire. They'd happily sit around the fire eating their food while my MC taught him all kinds of other things and helped him to develop his flintknapping skills, etc.

MC from 2055: he'd think the kid's a bit crazy, but would probably find the whole thing rather cute. My MC would want to know if the kid wants to be an apprentice in rugby or ice hockey, as he isn't particularly skilled an anything else that the kid might want to learn. Whichever sport the kid picks, he'd find out if the kid's parents would let him play and take him to join a club, and if so my MC would mentor the kid and really enjoy being a mentor.

Where does your MC sleep? If it's a room (or tent or other room-like thing) how is it decorated?

Except for two paintings of her mother's depicting Paris and a yellow floral bedspread (neither by her choice), Leela's room is bare of decoration, or what she calls 'dustcollectors.' No photos, stuffed animals, keepsakes or posters. Grandfather had taught her favourite things is a weakness, and everyone in her life had reinforced everything Grandfather had taught her.

Your MC had incurred the wrath of the alpha female of her group-the queen bee at her school, her sister, the madam of the brothel, the mistress of the house, her supervisor at work, her mother- and she needs to be punished. What is the punishment and how would your MC react to it?

This actually happens in my story. The woman Shiani pisses off, Mrs. Claire, is an incredibly condescending noblewoman with a lot of influence. So she approaches the king, telling him that Shiani's a witch. She is subsequently thrown into the dungeons where she is beaten and humiliated while awaiting her execution.

Shiani would escape if she could, but locked in the dungeons she is powerless. She waits for an opportunity - a rat, a flower, anything she might be able to use - but it simply doesn't come. All she can do is wait to die.

(She's eventually rescued by the villain, but I'd say that's more the villain's reaction than hers.)

Your MC steps in a pile of poop. A man standing nearby with a horse starts laughing at their predicament. It's pretty obvious where the stuff came from and it's equally obvious he doesn't even care.

What does your MC do?

At one point my MC is able to manipulate first matter, so essentially she would look at the man on the horse and turn it to smoke- or poo. But mostly she would turn the horse to smoke and laugh back while he crashed to the ground.

Your MC is becomes trapped in limbo, stuck in an infinate dream- how long do they last against the manifestations of their subconscious? How do their inner demons show themselves? What do they do in "god mode" where they are fully lucid and able to shape the world around them?

They don't last very long. My MC is terrified of darkness and failure so they would likely go a bit crazy. Their inner demons would be a complete darkness and shades of their loved ones telling them how horrible they are. God mode? Build whatever pops in their head.

What would your MC do if their best friend betrayed them?

My MCs best friend is his closest family. I think that a betrayal like that would rock him to his very core and lead to a lot of trust issues moving forward.

What is your MCs most irrational fear?

My MCs worst nightmare is waking up and finding she is six years old again and back in her uncle's palace in India (she's all grown up now, but has severe issues with men).

How does your MC show rebellion?

My MC would show rebellion by skipping his Weaponry or Extended Sorcery classes and go hang out in the recreational chamber instead. He'd be doing this with his best friend, who likely was the one who convinced him to go through with it.

Your MC has the chance to use a time machine to go back into the past or the future. Does he/she go back in time, or forward, or does he choose not to use the time machine at all?

Oddly enough, Alicia gains the ability to time travel very early on in her career as a reality hacker, though the limits on it assure she only ever gets to use it in her "game" with Nekohime. So if she actually got the chance to time travel for pleasure she'd have a hard time picking an era. On one hand, she'd be way more into the future than any past era...being an otaku and tech geek and all. Yet, knowing that Nekohime is at the helm of her reality, she'd be a lot less excited to see the future then before she knew that. Why? Well..she can pretty much guess that out of sheer sadism Nekohime made the future a blasted, post-apocalyptic wasteland where the starving remenets of humanity fight over scraps of low-tech squalor...and that's no fun unless your the omnipotent catgirl laughing at all the poor saps stuck in that future.

So to the past!!! ...but what era? Well, Dinosarus are almost as cool as mechs in Alicia's mind, so spending quality time with a bunch of raptors and a T-Rex sounds like good fun. But then there's this time she read about...when cyberspace was a new thing. Granted, her father's company owns the revolutionary new version that blew the original out of the water..but whitenessing the beginnings of the world she sees as her only true home would be interesting... and she heard the same era also had a *lot* of great anime and this really fun videogame about catching and batteling monsters...

Decisions, decisions...at this point, she'd use a randomization program to choose for her. She can't be bothered to focus long enough to make up her mind..she has more important things to contemplate.

Your MC can give one person other than themselves unlimited, godly power. Who do they choose to be entrusted with the dangerous and limitless gift of omnipotence?

My MC would just flat-out draw a blank. He tends to be easily paralyzed by indecision and the nature of this choice and the implications that come with it, would make it even worse. He'd consider giving powers to Grace, the baby left in his care, so he knows she'll be taken care of if something happens to him, but it doesn't take him long to realize the obvious danger of giving superpowers to a small child, so he wouldn't. He'd hem and haw over the decision, but would decide that the best decision would be to not give powers to anyone. There's that old saying about how power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Of course, what if everyone knew he had the power to give this power...now that would be an interesting conundrum to work out.

Has your MC ever been in a situation where he/she would do whatever they had to, cross whatever lines, make whatever deals, in order to achieve a more desirable outcome (ex. keeping someone safe or earning money to pay off debts or pay for a family member's operation)? What was the situation and what did they ultimately decide?

She's never been in a situation like that. Would she do it, though? Possibly, depending on what exactly the situation was and what she had to do to resolve it. She's very headstrong and determined when she wants to get her way. However, she does have at least some sense of risks and consequences, which is why the answer to this question would be very situational.

She would also be very likely to misjudge exactly what she was getting herself into, and end up biting off way more than she could chew.

Is your MC a risk-taker? How do they handle the situation when presented with a big risk?

She doesn't think she is, but she definitely is. However, only if it is without risk to those she cares about; she's a little annoying that way. She talks her way through it. She's a little too clumsy to fight her way through it without risk of failure.

If your MC had to choose between being eaten alive by zombies or turning into a zombie and eating his/her dog (or other magical creature or friend) alive, what would s/he choose?

MC is 100% out at the idea of becoming a zombie. (though she's a realist, if she was a mindless zombie, she probably wouldn't care what she was eating, right?). She'd be doing everything she could to kill/avoid/contain zombies, and if they got her, she's dead either way, so she'd rather not add to their number.

What's the awkward childhood memory that your MC would prefer no one ever learns about?

He was reading very old books, and he learned the word "ejaculated" in the sense of "suddenly exclaimed." He proceeded to use it around a group of adults. Oops.

What does your protagonist look for in a friend?

When she was alive, Alicia had almost no friends. She had a sea of friendly faces vying for her attention, but their friendliness was superficial and masked a predator's intent. As the only child of the world's first, and only, multi-trillionare, most people who where nice to her where sycophants who's entire lives where lived to serve her or hounds looking to become "friends" for the sole purpose of getting a taste of her privilege. As a result, she had a rather jaded and bleak view of people, and didn't really try to keep friends...so she had no qualifications. She saw other people as things to be exploited or played with for her own entertainment. Occasionally, she'd indulge somebody and fake actually caring for them, but only because she enjoyed their reactions when she dropped the ruse and revealed she had been trolling them the whole time.

However, when she dies, goes to hell, and is forced into Satan's conquest game, she surprisingly starts to open up. While she at first sees what she does as merely collecting pawns, fighting for survival tends to break down barriers and force trust...and from that she actually comes to realize that not everybody is as selfish, shallow and shitty as the people she was surrounded by in life. Granted, being in hell, many of her enemies are the lowest dregs of human depravity, but the "minions" she surrounds herself with are surprisingly not terrible people...granted, they have all made some pretty horrible mistakes, but they are the first people to genuinely care about her as a person and not a walking credit card.

In that, she learned more about herself, and came to terms with what she actually wanted and didn't realize she did. So I suppose after her death, her qualifications would be A) that the to-be friend cares about her as a person. B) that the to-be friend is accepting of her many, many flaws C) that, like her, they are a little bit twisted. D) they know how to have a good time/don't take things too seriously and most importantly E) that they are honest and open with her. She'd love it if they could also hold a competent conversation about anime, light novels, videogames and all her other hobbies...but that matters a whole lot less now that she's in hell...

Had to google "deathnote" so I hope I got the right definition. (notebook that will kill a person if you know their face and write their name in the book).

MC from 40,000 years ago: Writing doesn't exist yet, and even the concept of having a name that's fixed/permanent in the legal sense that we understand it doesn't exist yet. What they have is more like a nickname and may change. Someone could deny ownership of whatever others call them. So even if they had a writing system, you can't tie a person to a name the way we can nowadays. Even if the book was presented to my MC by a magical being who could explain what it was, he wouldn't be able to use it. Notebooks don't exist in his world so he'd be fascinated by the object itself (as he would a non-magical notebook) and would notice the dry, leafy texture of the paper and realise it would make good kindling, or could be torn into thin strips to make tinder. He'd keep it with his flint and firestone, ready for when he needs to start a fire. Ultimately, it would get burned and it may as well have been a very plain, ordinary 35p notebook from Wilko.

MC from the near future: he'd be horrified by the concept. He doesn't want to kill anyone and would probably hand it in to the police to make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Now, if you were to give him a book that he could write the name of journalists in to make them forget he exists, he'd totally go for that.

He wants to make people like him, but he doesn't have the self-awareness/emotional insight to understand why people tend not to get along with him (those reasons being he's a know-it-all who always has to get a word in edgewise and doesn't really have a sense of tone). So he'd want to change those things about himself, not that he'd know they needed changing.

What is one thing your MC would change about the people around them?

I believe Mira's response would be something literally word for word like "could they maybe try to stop f'ing things up?" but more informationally, her life has gone from a bit grim to a total mess in the past year because of her sister's impulsive decision and her parents' inability to handle the fallout, so she's not totally wrong. That being said, Mira herself isn't exactly a wellspring of good judgement considering she's trying to fix her sister's running away by running away to find her...

What item could your MC not survive without? (figurative, unless literally is more fun)

Because literal is more fun, and my protagonist happens to be in a an actual survival situation in her story, I'll go that route and say her collected demons. The game she's been forced into by Lucifer has her capturing and battling demons like pokemon against the other participants for the right to control the spheres of influence formally held by the demons they've captured, so needless to say without her pets, she'd be in big trouble.

Your MC becomes a superhero. What is their hero identity's name and what does their costume, if any, look like?

40,000 years ago MC: he won't understand the concept of "superhero" or the idea of having a costume and superhero identity, however he will appreciate his new powers. As he can fly now, he'd assume it was because the falcons are watching over him (he already feels a connection with falcons) and now they've made him like them. Out of appreciation for what the falcons have done, he'd paint his face to look like a falcon's (e.g. like the mark under the eye of the peregrine falcon). He's called "Red" by his tribe so he'd probably start calling himself "Red Falcon" and as he can fly and do epic stuff, his tribe would call him that as well. And no-one would give him any grief any more. He'd be the leader/alpha of the tribe and as he's got no ill will towards anyone, he'd be a good leader.

MC from near future: He'd want to keep his powers secret, but that would be difficult as he's already famous for being the world's only Neandertal (he was cloned). He has enough of a sense of humour to call himself "Captain Caveman" among close friends and family, but he'd stick to wearing ordinary, jeans and t-shirt type modern clothes, and maybe put on a balaclava to hide his identity before doing anything heroic. Definitely no cape or anything that makes him look any more different than he already does. He'd want to use his powers to help people but he'd keep it quiet because he's enough publicity to last a lifetime and just wants a quiet life. He'd go around doing heroic deeds in secret and laughing as the media speak of this mysterious masked hero, unable to guess who it is.

Your MC finds themselves in a world that's like Minecraft in creative mode, i.e. you have unlimited building materials and nothing can hurt you. What would he or she build?

He would keep within the limits. It doesn't matter the outcome, if you're breaking the basic principles, to him it's not worth it (he leans HARD in the lawful alignment).

Lazy people. (Which is great, because her nemesis/skating partner/ex-boyfriend is lazy as all get out.) She is hardworking and not someone who knows how to "rest on her laurels." She's the skater who wants to land a quad.

What would your MC do with a million dollars?

MC from 40,000 years ago: they makes quite good tinder if you rip them up into small pices, and if you scrunch them up into a ball, they makes really good kindling. So yeah, he'd burn them. They have such pretty pictures on them though... he'd probably also wear quite a few dollars bills, threaded onto strips of leather or something. And give a few to other people who also want to wear them. But mostly he'd keep them as tinder and kindling.

Cloned Neandertal MC from the near future: First he'd change it all into pounds. Then he'd get financial advice and invest it. He'd use the interest to start a business where he sells things he made on auction websites - genuine Neandertal-crafted items.

Who did your MC admire/look up to/want to be like as a child?

What would your MC do with a million dollars?

novel:
Beth comes from a family with money and is off to make her own success, starting with 10 mil in seed (in the future so that’s less than it is now). So if she had another million for some reason, she’d fold it into her businesses and investments to make it grow.

Abe and Cindy let Beth handle all the household income.

short:
Robert and Claire would save it in long-term investment and possibly use it to avoid debt on a home mortgage depending on interest rates. Maybe Claire would use it to help start up her charity work. For sure, they would throw a nice dinner party in celebration.
