Hi all you intimidating writerly types.
I've been exploring this place for I while and I've finally decided to move on in, put my feet up, and go rummage through the fridge [if someone could direct me towards the cookie dough that would be much appreciated].

A little about me: I'm a college student and I've just rekindled my desire to write. I don't have much time for writing because my major is really demanding but I'd like to get back into it. I have no sense of direction for writing beyond that. Hopefully this site can help me figure out where I want to go with it and get some of the creativity flowing...and I'd like to have some fun too. :D

and who told you, you could put your feet on the furniture? You're going to be one of those annoying relatives who comes for a visit and never leaves, aren't you?
*sigh*

Oh well, the cookie dough is on the second shelf, but be careful, Haggis gets grumpy if someone eats all the cookie dough.

And :welcome:

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

I think you'll fit in nicely here. It get's a little crazy, but we all like crazy. Don't forget to read the newbie guide, which is in a sticky thread at the top of the Newbie Forum. If you have any problems you can PM (private message) me and I'll see if I can help, or you can post in the Super-Dooper Newbie 'Ask the Mod' thread at the top of the newbie forum.

To find out about the various buttons and icons, and also about rep points, how to PM (private message) members, custom avatars and a whole host of other useful stuff, check out Cathy_C's thread, which is also stickied at the top of the Newbie forum, Next on our tour, if you'll look to the left, you'll notice...

And for fun, we have the terrific Newbie Question of the Day thread. Pop in and have a go at answering a few of the really easy questions (the link is in the sig line below). They are easy. Yep, they are. And it's so much fun.

Oh, and do you like double choc-chip cookies? :D

Welcome to AW, skrumpet. You have my sympathy about lack of writing time. "Really Demanding" is one rough major. Hang in there. :D

Somewhere in my mind... it echoes in here ...
Welcome to AW, Skrumpet... Congrats, you made the first page of Google with your post under 'Skrumpet', a singular achievement, I believe. It's nice to see you come down from the rafters in Lurkville and hope you make yourself at home. AW is a good place to find inspiration and info on all things to do with writing. It's also a great place to have fun in the process (it sure beats all that studying for college which is, though necessary, a pain sometimes). Enjoy exploring the place, there's much to see and do.
