I tell ya, this querying thing is sort of like dating a jerk. You break up thinking, "I'll never do this again!" but then there you are, months or years later, thinking "this time it will be different." It never is (for me). Same old jerk.

I went to see some one act plays by my friends this weekend, and after we were laughing about the differences between actor and writer neuroses - how actors crave validation and love, while we writers can't deal with not being criticized.

Au contraire, mon frere -- I'll take not having my writing ripped apart any day of the week.

Actors are just more vain, imo. They can royally suck and still ask, "Yeah, I know I sucked, but did I look good?"

Today was a lovely 13 hour day that started with my car NOT starting. $117.00 bucks later I have a shiny new battery.

This week, shockingly, will be a tad mellower than last. Just have to add, I have a doggeh on my bed, fast asleep, tip of his tongue hanging out. So.Damn.Cute.

Cricket, yay for mellower. Can a 13 hour day be mellow? *shudder* Thank goodness for puppies. Sorry about the battery. But any day it costs $117 to get to work, you should be in a limo.

I sent a couple new queries lately so I'm haunting my in-box. I had hesitated, then I read over the work and thought, "This is so awesome! How could anyone NOT want to publish it?" Ummm... Confidence runs strong, then it runs dry. But whatever it takes to get those queries out.

Morning all, thanks for the hugs. I was just a little down the other night by something that wasn't even directed at me. Someone I know (not on AW) is being followed around the internet by a person who doesn't have enough to do, and that person is apparently so pathetic it makes them feel better to disparage someone else.

Usually I just feel sorry for such types, but bleh, some days my pity wears thin.
