I managed another 14 in March (taking me to 45 for the year to date), thanks in part to the tail end of a much-needed vacation.

  1. Tease by Amanda Maciel.
  2. The Eye Of Minds by James Dashner.
  3. The Plague Charmer by Karen Maitland.
  4. Beneath The Surface by Jo Spain.
  5. Seven For A Secret by Lyndsay Faye.
  6. They Can’t Kill Us All: The Story Of Black Lives Matter by Wesley Lowery.
  7. Truevine by Beth Macy.
  8. The Last Act Of Hattie Hoffman by Mindy Mejia.
  9. Cast Iron by Peter May.
  10. Is Science Racist? by Jonathan Marks.
  11. A Handful Of Ashes by Rob McCarthy.
  12. The Fix by Liam Vaughan and Gavin Finch.
  13. Cream Buns And Crime by Robin Stevens.
  14. Why Wall Street Matters by William D. Cohan.
I'm still on a thriller kick, having started a YA thriller project but I've been trying to read more non-fiction too in order to expand my knowledge more. I still need to read more WOC and I have a few queued up on my pile but broadly I'm pretty happy with how my challenge is going this year.

I purposefully decided to read EoS after building up a good lead on my 100-book challenge, seeing as it took me over a year to read her last one. Only 2 months for this one.

I had a slower April, only managing 8 books (although the M. T. Anderson was a long one) and I didn't manage any YA either - still on a thriller kick but got in a couple of SF books as well.

  1. Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney.
  2. The Watcher by Ross Armstrong.
  3. Symphony For The City Of The Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege of Leningrad by M. T. Anderson.
  4. From Darkest Skies by Sam Peters.
  5. The Break Down by B. A. Paris.
  6. The Glorious Heresies by Lisa McInerney.
  7. Goodly And Grave In A Bad Case Of Kidnap by Justine Windsor.
  8. The Book Of Phoenix by Nnedi Okorafor.
All reviews are on my blog https://ireadthereforeiblog.wordpress.com if you're interested in checking them out.

Well, the last five have taken me much longer than I would have expected! The first two books both clocked in at around 600 pages and were pretty dense reads (the first one especially so). The last three slipped down a bit more easily, but work and a few other things have been a little more hectic than usual over the last couple of weeks, with the result that it has taken me almost a month to read the following five. Still, I'm almost halfway and it is not even June yet - I might make it after all!

I could artificially pad my numbers by reading a few short books, but I think that would become a bit self-defeating. The purpose of the exercise is to read lots of wonderful books, and if that happens to be 70 or 80 rather than 100, well, you would still have read 70 excellent books. :)

36. The Good Apprentice - Iris Murdoch
37. Nuns and Soldiers - Iris Murdoch
38. The Man of Property - John Galsworthy
39. In Chancery - John Galsworthy
40. To Let - John Galsworthy

I hope that you're all enjoying your reading! Onwards, ever onwards! :)
