I just borrowed this book from the library, the classic story of the little wooden puppet who becomes a real boy in the end. Has anyone ever read it? What did you think?

It's probably been forty years since I read it, but my recollection is you shouldn't go into it thinking you'll find the Disney version. There's less sweetness and light in the pages than on the screen. Great book, nonetheless.
