Forrest Ackerman Dies

The man who was credited with coining the phrase "Sci-Fi" died in Los Angeles. He was also a magazine editor (Famous Monsters of Filmland) and an agent who repped some famous names.

Aw damn! I loved that FMOF magazine and the Ackermonster. He loved what he did and it showed. The horror genre lost a giant.

I hope they find a permanent location for his collection. He'd been struggling to maintain it for the longest time.

Very sad to hear that. I knew that he was really getting up in age and had the feeling that he wouldn't be around much longer, but as a life long fan of FAMOUS MONSTERS this is a dark day.

He will be missed- I think I first came across him in the back of Perry Rhodan.
