What's a NaNo?

NaNo is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo - shortened to NaNo) - takes place every November 1-30. The goal is to write 50k words in that time span. If you win, you become ruler of the universe...

Okay, no. I made that last part up. You don't get to rule the universe (rats)

To win, you just need to write 50k words by Nov 30th. And you get to say you won, and you get a cool little thingiemahooie that says you won (see my sig)

Anyway, many of us get into the spirit of the NaNo... and miss it when it's over

I have to agree, it’s pretty dead in here. I wandered around the other boards for awhile and came back and still nothing! Where’d everybody go? If this keeps up I’ll be forced to get some writing done!

It's funny--this year it was way easier than last year. I think it was because I had an idea of what to expect.

For fun, explore the list of winners. We're in good company: Queen Victoria, Cirdan & Bigfoot all won, too.

There's a whole new section on the NaNo forums for post-Nano, like NaFiWriMo, editing and publishing, those still writing etc maybe that's where everyone is as it's pretty lively! (That's where I've been a lot...)
Maybe we need something like that over here.

I'm keeping it alive by having a hilarious discussion on another board about how we've all been scammed. Apparently.
