I've heard nothing but shiny good things about GUD: good quality publication, decent pay rates, and people with solid experience in the field.

Same here,

couple of my friends were not only paid professional rates, they get royalties :)

But GUD is a tough nut to crack. Good luck

Mel...

One of their editors actually frequents the cooler. Goes by the handle of Kaolin.

A high-quality publication, and extremely hard to break into. I don't have a rejection letter from them yet, but I plan on acquiring quite a few in the near future.

GUD is fine. And I have paper copies of issues 0 and 1 around the place somewhere.

Cheers,
Rob

I've got Issue 3 on my coffee table. Amazing story on p. 57 by Twizzle, as well as a piece by Evil Editor.

I've also looked into this mag and hearing your reports makes me think I should brave it. Love the name, too.

Hey Kaolin, think you could just send me the rejection letter now before I submit my manuscript? :tongue

Best of luck with this piece in other markets.

I joined a long time ago but I haven't submitted or bought anything yet. They look a good place to publish.

Well, I just submitted a poem to them. It's my very first submission, so I'll likely be getting my very first rejection letter in about ten days to a month. :tongue

I'm an editor with GUD too :).

Ever one to resurrect a dead thread, I just wanted to say I've been following your #GUDslush on twitter recently, and it terrifies me.

*hee* She's a crafty one, that sqrl. I'm less crafty. My comments are best left inside our secret lair. She jumbles them up temporally and spreads them out, I understand.

Hmm. Well. We haven't mentioned it to anyone in particular, yet? :) @buffysquirrel and @kaolinfire are the two editors who commonly tweet, and @gudmagazine is a shared acct (though mostly me).
