Interview of a lobotomy? Wow
This is interesting Polly, at least in part because it even exists in the first place. I always thought that lobotomies created human vegetables. I guess I was wrong.
His book is certainly based on a horrific premise - what is life like after someone sticks an icepick in your brain? But it happened to a lot of people, and was one of the tragedies of 20th century psychology, so having this true tale can add depth (I'm assuming) to my understanding of the evolution of brain science.
Thanks for the tip as well as the interview. One of the neat things about the connection here on Absolute Write is that we can share insights into other memoirs. I'll have to put it on my list. I enjoyed the conversational tone of your interview, and learned about both you and him.
