Does anyone know much about this company? I went to their website, see they've been around since 1790, and are a Methodist publisher.

Does anyone know if they are pod or traditional?
Do they have actual bookstore placement, not just availability?

Yes, they are a commercial ("traditional") CBA publisher, and have bookstore placement. A good, solid house.

I know from contact with them at Conference that they're very picky about historicals. They think medieval fic is fine, but only if it dates from after 1500 (!) and is set in Scotland. Wales and England are a no-no. Guess they like those men in kilts.

Chip MacGregor reports that Abingdon is discontinuing its fiction line. See his blog for details. I'm sorry for some of the fine authors involved, but my impression was that they were somewhat airy-fairy about what they wanted if your name wasn't Deb Raney.
