Thought I'd create a new mind-massaging game of my own.

Take the last three words of the previous sentence(s) in that order and place it somewhere in your own sentence(s), however, they cannot become your own last three words. You must also take a word from the previous sentence(s) not in the last three words and use it in your own (not words like a, the, for, then, etc, try to use the most interesting word :)). You must also try to shift the syntax/meaning of the previous sentence(s) and create an entirely new one.

For example,
1.The girl sighed, stared out the window, and hoped for a better life.

2. "What do you wish for?" the old woman asked, her real eye ablaze, a window into her soul. "A better life? A new car? Be careful what you wish for!"

And so on, the next person having to use you wish for and another wide (eg, ablaze) in their own sentence(s).

I appreciate these little games, they always stir the creative juices, and I was willing to see what imagination could be revealed under these constraints.

Starting sentence: Harmony sung on the warm air, the little girl handing her mother the pegs as she hung the washing out to dry.

like so?

“ A Dry Martini, please”, she asked, knowing already that going out and drowning her problems in alcohol will not do much in washing the guilty feeling of scamming all that people at the trade table.

Yes, Phil, but the last three words are meant to remain together as the same phrase.

Continuing on:
She felt as if at the trade table, sweaty palms, pale complexion and gritted teeth. She wished she could down a martini or two, however, it wasn't going to stop her conscience coming back to bite her.

The next person uses to bite her somewhere in their line.

"Okay, just once, for luck - to be sure," said Melinda, as she barred her breast.

Barred her breast? The woman wanted a barcode tattoo for luck? Fine, Jace was used to weird requests.

Thom wasn't used to weird requests, so when the man with the tattoo asked for a cigarette, he had no clue what to do.

Her dress was a blue flame, shimmering with sequins, lined with a velvet hem, confusing the mind so that it doesn't know what to focus on.

It was hard to focus on the pages before her, her mind fairly shimmering with the possibility of discovery.

Do mind you surroundings, you don't want to jeopardize the possibility of discovery by being careless and destroying an irreplaceable clue.

Robbery Homicide Division, careless as ever, lost the bowl of half-eaten Alpo, which was an irreplaceable clue in the mysterious death of Sir Humphrey Dinglebottom.

"You left your brassiere at the latest murder scene, which proves you are the culprit!" Inspector Crumpet said to the strumpet.

To the strumpet that lurks within your soul, I hunger for and beg its release, like a beggar child slobbering over a gooey crumpet dangling just out of reach.
