I know a decent amount on Egyptology, particularly on the religion (and am a revivalist of it), and if you need more on the historical side, I can always point you to a few Egyptologists I know. Also on the religious/spiritual side of it, I don't mind talking about my experiences with a few of the god(s)/desses.

I've been cosplaying off and on since 2004, so I can help in regard to the culture of the hobby and some of what goes into making one. I have had cats all my life. I'd also worked at Domino's as a pizza delivery driver for 4 years. I have Asperger's Syndrome, which is on the Autism spectrum.

Just adding in my knowledge, although not vast, it could always be useful :)

Social disorders such as OCD, ADD, ADHD, anxiety etc.

I spent almost 4 years at the airport. I know how to reroute passengers, the airline lingo, almost every city code in America, and a good chunk of European (PHL, DCA, LAX, FRA, XNA, ATL ect.) I am also diverse in customs and their regulations as I was customs certified to work with the larger 777's going trans-Atlantic. I know what happens in the air, in the cockpit, on the ground and behind the scenes and what could or could not contribute to shutting down the airport whether it be bomb threat, presidential in/out bound or weather.

I also Role Played, unfortunately not D&D but online stuff and I played card games such as Munchkins and Magic the Gathering. And I also played WoW and Guild Wars

I'm only too happy to have my brain picked on the following subjects: Tibet, human rights and universal justice, Buddhism and religions in general, Native Americans, parenting, strokes, learning to live with sudden disability, depression, psychology, Spanish and English language/translations, labradors, cross-stitch, good books, and sundry other subjects at which I am no expert!

I know this is an old post, but are you still willing to entertain research questions about Tibet and Buddhism? I am currently working on a novella set in Tibet and as I have no direct experience, I am desperately immersing myself in books and research on the area and the religion, but I still have a lot of questions! Can I ask you a few things? I'm new to this site, so where should I ask them-- here or through a private message or on another thread? Thanks! Kristina

I have a strong knowledge of the history of the American West, as well as the pre-contact archaeology of the west and upper Midwest.

I know a fair bit about animals, habitat and climate of the US since people came to North America.

I have a decent knowledge of animal osteology (bones).

Other than North American Archaeology, I know generally how archaeology works, but I am less well versed in the archaeology of the rest of the world, particularly after the rise of civilization.

I know human evolution, and how it works.

I have a passable knowledge of geology.

I have build a number of electric guitars from scratch, so I know the ins and outs of those.

I have worked in the field of psychology for a number of years, so I have certain types of knowledge in regards to that. Mostly in regards to mental retardation.

My degree is in Anthropology, so I have general knowledge in the four fields of anthropology: Biological Anthropology (Human evolution, primatology, genetics), Archaeology (Material remains of human culture), Linguistic Anthropology (The development of language and its relationship to culture), and Cultural Anthropology (The foundations and study of culture)

I have a pretty good knowledge of world geography and early world history from Sumeria to the Roman Empire.

And a bunch of other stuff.

I've got a BA in zoology and a Ph.D. in comparative physiology and animal behavior, and I've taught a variety of biological topics. I also know a fair amount about dog behavior and training and compete in the sport of dog agility.

I know a smattering of stuff about other sciences (geology, paleontology, astronomy, psychology), but more at the level of the educated hobbyist.

Though my list isn't nearly as impressive as ShaneTWright's, if he is unavailable I have a measly bachelor's in Astrophysics and specifically did some research for LIGO (studying waves with a pietzo-electric). Or if you ask nice enough, I'm on good terms with my professors (who were employed by LIGO/ are crazy about particle physics) and I could get an answer from them. No guarantees there though. Also a military wife if that helps anyone out? Hope I can be useful!

I am also a wedding planner and am happy to help with all things wedding related. Finally, I also work for a large police department answering 911 calls and dispatching patrol officers. Any logistical police questions or specific 911 call questions I'm your girl.

Hmmm... Okay, I'm starting in on some major research myself, so I had better add what I can help with too. I'm legally blind and a former international journalist in the Balkans, Eastern Europe and other regions. I know about:

Blind/almost blind experience, issues, orientation abilities
Trauma reactions in children
Adoption in Central and Eastern Europe, inside orphanages, etc...
Some understanding of Roma and Romani culture as a journalist
Balkan wars (Kosovo especially, Bosnia, Croatia a bit, Macedonia especially)
the Czech Republic inside out and backwards
the Ukraine, including urban underworld and some pretty dicey situations but a bit dated
Russia, particularly Siberia
Germany in the 1990s, aftermath of the old border coming down, Fulda Gap
Zimbabwe under Mugabe
Ecuador, primarily a little part of the Amazon jungle region
Northeastern Oregon
Slavic languages and linguistics
Medicinal herbs
Attachment disorders and therapies
Homeschooling
Cooking and gardening from scratch
Neo-Paganism

I'm always happy to share. I'm looking for people with significant medical, surgical background and better modern weapons expertise than mine.

I don't have a whole lot of experience, but if anyone's interested, I can help with the following:

Scuba diving
APD (Auditory Processing Disorder, which I have).
Living with someone who has Alzheimer's. I lived with my grandparents for two years when I was in my mid-twenties, and my grandmother had chronic Alzheimer's.
Horses. I'm very familiar with English breeds and English riding, but know nothing about Western riding or US horse breeds.

I've also worked in the following places:

Charity shop
Bingo hall (part of a casino and operated under casino rules, so I can help with those too :))
Office
Livery yard (in UK)
As a private English (foreign language) teacher

I'm not sure if that'll be of any use to anyone, but if it is, feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to help :)

Psoriasis (I have it; I also have a diet that cures it/Edgar Cayce reading). PM me and I'll send it to you. Give it about a month and you'll see a BIG difference. I don't have a lot of lesions, but when it flares up from stress, certain things in the diet will tone it down. I don't do the diet all the time, but there are certain things that have stuck with me. While doing other diets for other purposes, I carry over some things from this diet because it keeps down the acid reflux, too.

PCOS and have 2 children when several physicians said "give up" when I had problems with infertility. Atkins diet, glucophage, along with regular exercise got me past this not once, but twice.

Both babies born by C-section. Both were premies. I also had Adenomyoma which is like Endometriosis, except that the tissue growth is on the inside of the uterus instead of on the outside. I've had a partial hysterectomy about a year after the birth of my 2nd child.

Had my gallbladder out when I was 17 because I was a hardcore dieter.

Have carpal tunnel syndrome. Gave up my right hand to surgery to have a release done. Went 6 weeks without the use of it post-surgery.

My son has Autism; he is "high functioning." He also has sensory issues with food and his mouth.

Spent many years in medical billing for Radiology, some Gastroenterology (oupatient surgery center), and ENT (Otolaryngology). Worked in an Orthopaedic office very briefly, but didn't do billing.

Not where Google thinks.
I can offer my insights and experience as captive. As a teen I was imprisoned for four years in an abandoned rural restaurant. With brief glimpses of sunlight and an occasional kindness, my guards toyed with me, and with harsh fanaticism and increasing violence, they tried to break me. I escaped at sixteen, and with two days to adjust, I stepped out into a world that I did not know. Who was the president? What sport was the Superbowl? Reintegration is a tale sometimes more harrowing than captivity, but if you are writing a tale about either and you'd like someone to talk with, send me a PM. It's been 15 years, and I can talk about it now.

Other areas I can offer experience:
  • Moving from cult to cult as a child.
  • Growing up fundamental Muslim (unrelated to the aforementioned cults).
  • I've witnesses several exorcisms (not voluntarily). Muslim exorcisms.
  • Early admissions into college.
  • Firearms self-defense from a woman's perspective.
  • Dropping off the grid, both legally and figuratively.
  • Confidentiality Programs (the civilian versions of Witness Protection)
  • Home Canning & Food Preservation
  • Edible wild plants of California and the Midwest (I'm a novice yet - no mushrooming).
  • Being lesbian. I'm married (to a wonderful woman) and have a child. All the legalities that surround this, including gay marriage, second parent adoptions, and guardianship paperwork.
  • I've lived in Northern California, Southern Florida and the Midwest; and several other places I don't know enough about to speak towards.

I have a masters in social studies secondary education. I taught middle school social studies and SPED and one honors class. I also taught in the high school during summer school. I am an expert in differentiated instruction for the middle grades. I did not join this forum to get help with that side of my writing. Expository comes much easier than fiction for me. I do blog about differentiated instruction.

You can also ask me anything about being an Army spouse who has had to lead FRG's (Family Readiness Group). I have lived in Germany, GA, NY and now SC. I have stayed at home while my husband deployed three times.

You can ask me about adoption and special needs children. I have experience with my son who when we first adopted him used to beat himself until he bled or run himself into the wall until he passed out. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

I have traveled to Vietnam, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, Belgium, France, Czech Republic, and Poland.

I also played soccer in college and coached for many years. I have experience working with children that were in gangs.

Here are my areas of expertise...

Hey, y'all!

I work in an Occult Bookstore, (for the last 17 years) so, I can help with questions about the following:

Wicca, Witchcraft, Stregeria, Asastru, Celtic paganism, Druidry, Greek Reconstructionist Paganism, Hoodoo, most Afro-Diasporic traditions, satanism, angel magic. Some Kabbalah, some Golden Dawn, Ancient Egyptian practices, goddess worship, and Faery Faith.

Also, Tarot and Tarot Reading. Runes, pendulum, geomancy types of divination.

In the same vein, but more specific--

Some herbalism,
candle burning,
making potions, magical oils, incenses,
How to banish a spirit or poltergeist

I'm also pretty good with mythology, Greek, Roman, some Etruscan, Ancient Egyptian, Norse, Celtic.

You get the idea. Also, if I don't know something, I should be able to point people towards good information.

Other areas:
1980 New York Hardcore Punk scene.
I'm a professional musician in a goth band, so I can answer questions about the gothic music scene, and questions about touring cross country, being in a band.

I can also help with knowledge of art techniques, watercolor, oil, pastels, etc, . Also some archaic mediums, like glair, silverpoint, encaustic.

Oh, and I've lived in Seattle for more than 20 years. I'm, most familiar with the Capitol Hill District, which is where I reside.

:D
