I have a question: I am currently considering submitting short stories to mags. But I don't live in the US. I live in China. Will that pose a problem for me? Are overseas authors more troublesome to negotiate with due to the geographical distance? When I supply my address with my submission, should I provide an address in English, or in Chinese, or in both languages?

Exir, who is very inexperienced in this matter.

I live in Japan, and I submit via email. If not, I submit vial snail, but always include SASE. You need $0.94 stamp. Buy them from USPS website.

I write my address, etc. in English. Negotiation shouldn't be a problem, but you may need to hire a US literary attorney if you have no idea what the contract means. I did everything via email, but also have lots of US stamps for agent hunting (later this year...har har). :)

Good luck!
