14th ChiZine/Leisure Short Story Contest

SOrry about the tease this morning Lily - I only read the first sentence of your post and didn't realize that you had already checked Brett's blog-o-doom.

I subbed my Chizine story, Nidus, to the SYW boards (maybe I should have done that first?). I want to make sure it's even capable of finding a home before I send it out again - so I can call them all fools! Mwahahaha! Muwahahahaha! Muwaha... aw, screw it.

This has been absolutely nerve-wracking. On 7/8 I was notified that I was on the list of 15 finalists -- but was sworn to secrecy. No posts to forums, emails to colleagues, etc. I was dying to tell y'all, but didn't want to break the rules (and blow my chances.)

So... no win place or show, but HM is cool. Would have been very disappointed if I didn't make the top 10 after all that. I feel bad for the folks that made the 15 but not the final 10.

I was just thinking that I would have made $280 on the story. That probably would have worked out to about .50/hour.

It's taken me about 4 hours to get my mom's old computer online, then found I didn't know my AW password. At last! Now need to see if I can update my blog.
