Greetings from a California college student! Just another aspiring author who gave into self-publishing too soon. I still have some hope for my fantasy series, The Xavier Mosaic, but I have a feeling I'll have to switch genres and start fresh when it's finished. Getting epic fantasy published has certainly been a headache.

Everyone here is so knowledgeable and helpful, I hope I can fit in :)

I have heard that epic fantasy is tough to find success with in self-publishing, but it has happened. Be patient and modest and you'll find your way.

Welcome to the 'Cooler.

Welcome. I know how tough it can be to get epic fantasy that people will actually like. It's one of the most popular genres for young writers out there, so even if you go with traditional publishing, the agents have seen thousands upon thousands of similar stories. I'd imagine self-publishing features similar hurdles. When your browsing on Amazon and come across hundreds of books that sound the same, how do you pick one?
