I just read the post about the "tiered membership" and the test.

Been nice knowing you all; see you around. Well, no, won't see you around.

Hey. I'm traumatized enough as it is. :scared: Not sure I can hold up with another year of the wild stuff. :poke: (Just when I think I'm out of it, they pull me back in........)

Umm...we haven't actually planned anything this year, folks. Too many complaints, last year. <shrug>

I'm sure there'll be regular board hi-jinks going on between the members, though.

It is my understanding that because of server problems earlier today, AW will instead be celebrating the festum fatuorum, festum stultorum, festum hypodiaconorum, and the fête des fous, all of which take place in December.

This way, we can invite Krampus.

Lol, wasn't last year the time a bunch of us wanted you to keep the format permanently? Or was that the year before?

*still has steampunked AW screenshots saved on her computer*

And Medi posting the warning/explanation link kinda gave you away.

Yeah, but that was before I discovered the majorly hosed database.

The restore-AW-to_Normal stuff usually takes about 72 hours after the festival is over, and I've already got that much stuff to do to fixt what was broke.

That's just because you still insist on using VAX.

I may come off here as something of a curmudgeon, but I'd really prefer this not to happen. April Fool's stuff like this is about as entertaining as a Mitt Romney unemployment joke.

Yep. You come off exactly like a curmudgeon, as a matter of fact.

Oy, my most hated of the days. Except I do love the movie APRIL FOOLS DAY, so I think I'll just stay indoors with that on repeat and trust no one.

Seriously, the lottery and this day... boy will the jokes be HILARIOUS.

You know this really isn't the big, huge, hidden secret that everyone thinks it is. All you really have to do is check out the calendar and you can figure it out. See, the celebration only begins on the first. it's the warm-up party for the second of April!

The whole thing is just a terribly thinly disguised excuse to get everyone in a good, festive and high-spirited mood for Monday! Why? You ask? Oh, that's where it get's easy. The second is the birthday celebration for AW members jansuart_99, Volupuary Manque, TrishLaz, Russ Mars, Carole, both Lantenjacks, goddessofthehunt, and that silly 'ol KellyAssauer*! ;)

*which we all know is a national holiday in some parts of the world*

Thanks for the heads-up. Has it really been a year since the cool steampunk banner? Hopefully I'll remember to check in tomorrow to see all the craziness. Looking forward to it! :D

Ah, I see, so it's not because too many curmudgeons complained last year, it's because someone (probably blacbird) sprayed down your database with a hose.

That's okay. I love my new avatar and was dreading the idea that some smart-ass mod might deface it in the name of April Fools. :D
