Regulars will know I'm never one to wade in on the side of a Tory Cabinet Member, but it does genuinely seem possible that Mitchell's version of events was correct. There's apparently strong evidence that an off-duty officer reported events which CCTV shows he couldn't have seen, and now another man has been arrested.
I find it all bewildering. In the 1980s the police tended to act as the truncheon wing of the Tory Party, but now they're in open conflict.
