As in any disaster, it is essential to implement a personally designed program suited to your unique needs & inclinations.
Disaster, best described as run-away blood pressure, in this case - seemed imminent this morning as I listened to news & browsed political threads.
Quick ! Begin PEP immediately!!!
1. OFF with anything political.
2. ON with the music.
3. DO something semi-violent to relieve frustration!
4. AH - COOK - from-scratch Chili
5. RAID Fridge
6. CHOP onions, celery, green peppers.
7. BROWN meat
8. MASH garlic
9. CLIP herbs
10.SMASH tomatoes
11. SIMMER

When I hear/read points of view that not only am I opposed to, but that are downright strange or weird, AND have a reasonable chance of being passed/elected into office, I go straight to 11 (all meanings intended).

I reach for my copy of The Stand or Alas, Babylon or Earth Abides.

Later, I spend some time fantasizing how much easier life would be if most humans (not me, of course) ceased to exist.

I never get rattled, flustered or have high blood pressure.

I do none of the above.

I am a rock.

I am a tenacious, unstoppable posting machine.

I just wish I had more hands and more computers. That is my only regret.

Thank you.

Under the troll bridge.
Ours sort of started when we put the television in the barn.

The interweb is still a problem, but I just go play Thoreau and take a walk in my woods. We found a bunch of black morels today. They're soaking right now and I intend to cook them for dinner tomorrow in a nice risotto.

I go to Office Party and look for goofy threads.

Me, too.

But I'm a lemming or four (I haven't figured that part out yet), so that's sorta expected behavior.

Brutal Mustang - re/ 5 mile horseback ride w/o cell phone -
With or without cell phone should do it.

Hee hee. True. I just don't like to be bothered by anyone when I'm riding. I know it sounds silly to be out on a horse without a phone. Sometimes I just want to be truly alone.

Horseback riding WITH a cell phone sounds really silly to me.
There was no such thing when my mother rode horseback to her teaching job at a one-room country school.

I believe in balance.
I balance measured amounts of current events and fortitude.
A jigger of tequila for every half hour of campaign news.
Two Rum runners minimum per debate.
Three chilled Mint Juleps for news of the primary of any Southern State.
