Nikee, please check your facts before posting -

And, everyone, let's try to limit the number of threads we start just to get people all riled up for no good reason. Post something you have an opinion about, state it, contribute to the increase in knowledge but let's stop looking for ways to stir shit up as our only objective. Absent some kind of actual commentary about what one is posting (especially links like that one) I'm gonna start just deleting these kinds of threads.

If anyone wants to comment about that, fine.

I think that was directed at me.

It was directed at every one. If I have something to say to someone specific, believe me, I have no problem making sure that you know I meant you.

I think the question on all of our minds is: Why no mention of jellybeans?

I figured as much. You seem to be balanced that way.

I was just taking you up on your invitation to comment about it. :D

If you're referring to me, I have better things to do. That said, I'm not singling you out. If you think so, there are a dozen other people in P&CE who will happily tell you they've gotten the same treatment from me.

she was specific -- started out with saying Nikee, please.
yesterday, i didn't get why my thread about the pilgrims was deleted... since the old one had gone into foreclosure.

You mean Polygamists? Pilgrims are totally different. Not trying to be a wise ass but just figured I'd point that out.

Not deleted, merged into the original thread by another mod, who I believe made his reasons clear.

Got an opinion? Post it, back it up, defend it. Got a legitimate news item that you think will promote discussion/debate? Post it, comment, let things go. Got a funny link? Post it, laugh it up, let us all enjoy it.

Got a bit of propaganda--left or right--masquerading as something else? If you have to share, do it in a thread that already exists, don't start another pointless one.

What do we do with tedious shit that bubbles to the surface of our brains and makes us feel claustrophobic if left alone with it?

amen.

I'm getting rather tired of one-shot posts/threads that don't add anything to the board and instead either help spread misinformation or are just blatant lies. Have the balls (or female equivalent) to at least stand by your opinions, right or wrong. Argue your position, don't just wave your hands in the air and say "well, I read it somewhere on the internet so it must be true!"

bah.

time for tea.
