freedom

She has lived for far too long -
her eyes have grown accustomed to life's dim light -
her senses have stretched with waking and have found their prison -
her thoughts, the first to fly, have come to roost and share their tales.

There is something
beyond this
world.

She frees her last sigh,
learns to leap,
and falls into the sky.

All she can sense is the absence around her-
no feelings no thoughts no words cloud her mind.
How long she was there not even she can tell you.
There is nothing to tell.
She was falling, but from nowhere, so she could have been standing.
The black void captivated her,
kept her in its thrall.

How can an echo come, she thought,
