Went in for a beer in a funky little pub. I'm old enough and domesticated enough that a beer in public before the sun goes down is a bit of a novelty.

Anyway, heart was won over to this place by them playing a song I haven't heard in ages. And they played it properly loud. Turn up your speakers and enjoy.

(But don't look. Nothing to see. The sound quality was better on this one and these guys were funny looking anyway!)

I had something for this...
Now I want to play my old Coleco football game.

My sister gave me one last Christmas and I still remembered all the appropriate moves. Wait for that safety to get up in that middle row and BAM! Hit the hole and don't look back!

Good times. babe

great song. as attested to in this thread, it's one that got enough airplay and had a unique enough sound that it can transport you through time.

not to step on the thread, but it made me think of a song i've mentioned often to friends, but nearly no one has ever heard of it. it's one of their most obscure, so i was delighted (and surprised) to find that someone had cut a video tribute to it and posted it on youtube.

Travelled

Travelled the world a million ways
Catching upon s familiar gaze
Everyone lives by do or die
There's no one with time to laugh or cry
There's no one to tell us what we're living for

And though I tried to be a good man
I just know that I'll be losing very soon
And there are times and there are motions
When I do believe I'm going out of tune, oh

Now I've been around a long, long while
Looking for sun to make me smile
But still multiply their daily bread
They're thinking there lies good times ahead
It must be a mighty funny way to feel

And though I try to be a good man
I keep finding out there's nowhere to begin
And so I think I'll go on singing
And in time I hope that we can all join in, oh

That's a nice song, Perks. Just yesterday they played Losing my Religion (I love that song) at my local bar; wanted to listen, but I got distracted by all the talking and drinking around me. Well, I didn't come to the bar to listen to REM. :D
