Yes...and no. I do 5-7-5 because it's more of a challenge. Each language conveying a thought can contain fewer or more syllables, depending on the thought. There's a bit more to Haiku than numbers.

LOL! Yes and don't you find every name has a face pop immediately into your head? (Not always positive.) My whole family has been in education and it made it very hard for naming children. I saw a show on agents who hunted serial killers and one of the agents had a hard time thinking of names for his son because they all related to murderers for him. I had to laugh.
Also remember when naming him what the name can be turned into once he is school aged. Kids can be cruel. LOL!

Yes, in this case, "bles-sed" seemed appropriate since coupled with "event."
I have laughed while reading a few of these, thinking how one can "drawl."

Blake I enjoyed yours. I recall my dad straining to hear the High School's Friday night game on the radio when the game was out of town. Invariably he'd have to hold it just right and become frustrated when it would fade out.
Then I thoght of those "simpler" days of my youth. Ya'll know, at least the older ones like me, back when you could actually handmake candy for kids and as a kid you could actually go trick or treating. Our house was always the hit of the neighborhood.
Mom made popcorn balls
doorbell rang incessantly -
neighborhood delight.

Sig Saur - I'm fine.
(True story. DH was out of town and my house alarm sounded. My neighbor came to check on me and cracked up when I came to the door. I had my .40 in my hand and a 230 lb male and a 205 lb female, English Mastiff on either side of me. He said he had no idea why on earth he thought he should come over with his flashlight to help me. He loves to tell that story at parties.)
How about everyone write a funny or interesting story on themselves through Haiku?

In-con-veen-EE-ence is sweet
Music to my ears.
Wanna hear the stupid long story? Good. When I was in the 5th grade, for pete's sake, I won a spelling bee spelling INCONVENIENCE. Since I'd always been a terrible speller before I started kickin' A' in spelling bees, many bitter losers in my class accused the teacher of having pronounced it in-con-veen-ee-ence on purpose just to help me out. 'Round these parts, most folks say in-con-veen-yence. I'm so stoked to know that the 5-syllable version is really real! Didja see that, James Corazza and Ron Wessels and Guy Alcala, you sore losers!? Ha! Thirty-five years of doubt, washed away! Hallelujah!
