French President Nicolas Sarkozy plans to announce that France will send 1,000 additional troops to Afghanistan, a British newspaper reported Saturday.
I wonder if McCain can gain anything from this as it comes on the heels of his visit to France.

Well there goes the neighborhood.
Too late the neighborhood is full of them.
With more than 1,900 troops, France is also a major US partner in Afghanistan providing troops and support to both the NATO International Security Assistance Force and the American-led Operation Enduring Freedom. In addition air deployments operates on regular basis from Dushanbe (nearly 600 airmen), and occasionally the French Carrier Group is deployed in the region (around 3000 sailors).

To answer your original question. Yes, I do think McCain will garner some of the inspiration for France's decision to send additional troops. I may be wrong, but expect to read about it soon.

I really like this Sarkozy.
There may be hope for France yet.
Well done.
I'm going to celebrate this new French path and attitude by going out and buying me some FRENCH fries.
That's right.

The Taliban released a press statement, "We tremble at the thought of slowly being killed by fattening sauces as we are mesmerized by the hypnotic antics of mimes."
