The first SF book I ever read as a teenager was his Childhood's End.
It moved me to tears.

He wrote SF that even I liked. Now that's an author.

I first heard about it this morning. I didn't know he was still alive.
So may he now Rest in Peace.

We had him for 90 years, and while I didn't read everything he wrote, I thoroughly enjoyed much of what I did read. A brilliant, original mind. We're lucky he wrote.
Maryn, saddened but not surprised at his passing

He was one of my favorites, and one of the two writers who inspired me as a young teen to actually write. I am so happy I had the chance to meet him.
He gave me an autographed copy of '2010'. I treasure that book.
I treasure his IDEAS.
