Ok.. so I need some schooling with this lingo. Can someone please explain what this mean and how it's done???

Margin justification is when you have no uneven edges at the end of your lines - that is, going down the side, all the ends of the lines match up - usually referring to the righthand margin. Proportional spacing has to do with how far apart words and letters look. With justification set to "on," words and characters can appear bizarrely far away from each other.

Margin: The white space around the edges of page.

Justification: Making all the lines the same length (so the edges of the text are straight on the right and left).

Proportional: Some fonts are proportional -- the amount of space a word takes up depends on how wide the individual letters are. Non-proportional spacing is when a word with, say, five letters always takes the same space on the line.

For example:

Proportional
iiiii
wwwww

Non-proportional:

iiiii
wwwww

These should all be selections in your wordprocessing program.

In general, your manuscript should look like it was produced on a typewriter:

Non-proportional, not justified, and with one-inch margins all around.

Let us just ask you: What software are you using?

In Word, select all text, go to the "Format/Paragraph" menu, select "Left" alignment. (margin justification and proportional spacing means you select the "justified" alignment instead of the "left" alignment)

Go to the "Format/Font" menu and select "Courier New" font and size "10." (this has nothing to do with that paragraph you posted, but it's good thing to do anyway).

You know how to underline words.
