Not a mystery/thriller/suspense writer, so one of you might use this.

Last week I was walking on one of the hiking trails at our local arboretum. On the side of the trail was a neatly stacked pile of clothes. Woman's skirt, top, jacket. When I went on up the trail, I met a couple coming down and asked if the clothes had been there when they went up the circular trail earlier. Oh, yes. In fact, the clothes had been there when they walked the previous day.

I did report it to the info center, and there's been no report of a missing person in the news ... but I keep wondering why the clothes were there.

There's got to be a story there, so I pass it along in hopes that someone can use it.

Weird.

I was in the downtown area of a large city.

Lots of people were about, as it was Saturday night and time for eating out, seeing shows, the works.

Lying flat on the sidewalk were some brand-new Hanes for Women Cotton low-rise panties, blazing white, extra large. They didn't look like they'd ever been worn, so I doubt they'd fallen off some luckless lady.

I pointed them out to my friends, all writers, and said, "There a story there."

They kept moving, declining the opportunity. Never get between a writer and food.

I still wonder how those panties got there, though...

There's a little park near where I live. The front part, on the street, has the usual grass, playground, etc. Behind it is a small patch of woods that a walking path cuts through. One day I was walking on that path and saw a baby carriage parked off the path. No baby inside; just the carriage. No sign of anyone nearby it, though I kind of figured they were walking with the baby. But when I went on the path the next day, the carraige was still there.

Eeek! Linda, that is spooky... Gillhoughly, I once had a friend who had lost much weight, put on an old pair, was in the metro in Atlanta, felt them slip, and just kept walking, hoping no one would notice.
