Doin' a little pimping for our friend Dgrintalis whose short story (I forget the title but I'll fill this in later:)) just came out in Necrotic Tissue's last issue. If you're into mice, or even if you're not, you'll love this one.

Great job, Damien, and it's nice to see NT go out looking proud. Great issue, Scott. We'll miss the 'zine big time.

Thank you, Soapy! And pup, since I forgot to add it in my earlier comment, the story title is To Keep You Safe. It was born from an AW prompt, too. :)

Those prompts have birthed quite a few special stories. I've sort of let them fall by the wayside, but I'll be bringing them back June 1st with a vengeance.

Speaking of which, my little flash piece They Wait (http://www.grumpsjournal.com/jue1/stories/jue1-barber.html), also work-shopped here, has just come out in the first edition of The Journal of Unlikely Entomology. It's got purdy pictures too. :D

There's also a story by our AW friend, badducky, J.M. McDermott. I'll be checking that one out at lunch today.

Well, I'm not sure how much of a brag this is, but my short story, "There's Something About Carol", has been published. It's in Sourlane Press' first anthology, Splatter: An Anthology of Horror, which just went up at Amazon, print only.

They didn't pay for stories for this first book, but future anthologies will be for pay, though I don't know the rates yet.

But it's a publishing credit, right? It's my first. :::squee!:::

PS: I found out about this opportunity right here at AW. So thank you, Mac, for having this forum here, and thanks to everyone for posting. I just love this place. <3 <--- that's supposed to be a heart, by the way.

Congrats, Sheila! I ordered the book Saturday after it went up and just finished it today. I loved your story. Ann's (Hester) two were great too. I love anthologies like this because the writers are fairly new. I always wonder if I'm reading the next Stephen King.

While it's not a sale, if you happen to check out Electric Velocipede's new website, you might notice a familiar name on the Staff page. My short story After Action Report is now regularly breaking the 100k point on Amazon's rankings, usually toward the end of the calendar month. Day before yesterday it had been up around 189k, but yesterday it dropped to around 69k and today is back around 97k.

At least it continues to sell. I've got to get another 9th Pathfinders story put together.

Hi all,

I'm very happy to announce a couple of bits of news. First, my novel HINDSIGHT has been optioned for development as a film. Now, I've been down this road before, and no movie ever came of it, so I'm not buying the Lamborghini just yet, especially because I can't spell it. But it's fun and there's always hope it will be made.

The second bit of news is that my backlist will be coming out soon as ebooks and POD. Can't give chapter and verse on that deal yet, because contracts are pending, but I am thrilled that within a few months these older books will once again be readily available to readers.

Congrats, DG. Chaosium's a real plum. I can honestly say I knew them when - when Greg Stafford, Lynn Willis, Sandy Peterson, and David A Hargrave were with them (not that they'd remember me although I knew Hargrave well a few years before his death (I'm probably one of the few that ever had a printed copy and unpublished materials for his SF version of Arduin) and I corresponded via email with Stafford for awhile about 10-15 years ago, but then I've corresponded with Stephen King too for all that matters).

So, you're in elite company as far as I'm concerned. Many hearty congrats!

Honestly, Soapie, it's still just beer money and barely even that right now - $11.60 in royalties on 19 sales in the past 6 weeks (up through last week), but that's not the important thing. I can see sales picking up steadily, especially as I add more product. Btw, those sales don't count all of the sales I've made in the last week (13 of those 19 were this month alone and the rest count only from 02/12/12 through 02/29/12). And this only counts Amazon sales (add in 2 more in Smashwords and 2 more on PubIt!).

My plan is long-term, 5 years at the least. I'm in year 2, slightly ahead of schedule for short stories, slightly behind for novels, but I think I'm doing well thus far.

The trend is promising, at least. In 5 years I should have 60-80 shorts stories, 15 novels, and 20-30 collections selling in 3 important distribution points and that doesn't count my game stuff which will also be steadily coming out. I'm already at twice the royalties I made during the first year and it's only the first quarter of the year. Imagine where I could be in 5 years time.

I could afford a pizza to go with the beer.

:)

Nice to see those sales increase though. Thirteen in 23 days on Amazon alone so about 1 every 1.75 days this month. I think it was just last August where I went a whole month with absolutely zero sales anywhere.

Yeah, I can see I'm going to have to go to weekly reporting & bragging. I have more good news! I sold a dark dystopian titled A Handful of Glass, a Sky Without Stars to Daily Science Fiction. :) And I'm now an Active member of both the Horror Writers Association and the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America.

Thank you, Greg! It could very well be months before I sell anything else, so I need to celebrate while I can. :D

A copy of my short story "Infection" sold overnight or this morning on Amazon. Its current rank is just over 190k. Thanks to all my readers and customers once again.

Yes! On 03/31/2011 a copy of Hunted, Infection, and Survival all sold through PubIt! For B&N more than doubling my sales there thus far since March and more than quadrupling my royalties.

That gets me stoked!

Woot!

Congrats! I'll have to check out your books when I buy my next round of novels from Amazon.

Holy crap! I decided to do some back checking for my sales on PubIt! And I've sold far more there than I thought I had, 1or 2 sales in December, 3 sales in January, 5 sales in February, and then 5 again in March. Most of those sales were for my short story After Action Report.

To some it might seem these sales or far short of mediocre even, but every sale's a few more pennies in my pocket and to me it means somebody's buying my work.

Woot!

Oh, heck, DG. It's nothing like the success you've been having lately.

I'll never be in the HWA or the SFWA and look at you - you're there already! And barely a couple of years ago you were just one of us wannabes here on AW.

Look at you now!

My last week's sales were a copy of Showdown and a copy of Infection (sold just this afternoon) sold on Amazon for the Kindle.

All sales are good sales.

Infection broke the 100k rank barrier on Amazon and was just above 95k in the rankings when I looked a little bit ago.

A copy of Infection sold on the B&N PubIt! Site for the Nook overnight (04/09-10/2012) One more notch in the belt.
