Are there any TV show and movie scenes you find yourself watching again by themselves (as opposed to watching the whole movie)?
In my DVR, I have saved the end of the "Sixth Sense", the end of "Waking the Dead", the scene in "Arrested Development" where Tobias dresses up as Mrs. Featherbottom and tries to get his daughter to take her "fun fun" (which is really the FDA-prohibited Phen-Fen), the last few minutes of the season 2 Finale of "The Shield" (where Live's "Overcome" plays in the background during the "Money Train" resolution scene).
I also sometimes pop in "L.A. Confidential" to watch a couple of scenes involving Spacey (one is when asked why he became a cop, he considers it, smiles ruefully and says "I don't remember").
I'm sure (okay, I know) there are plenty more but I've already told you more than you probably need to know about me. I've had arguments with friends who can't see the similarity b/w listening to songs repeatedly and watching cerain movie/tv scenes repeatedly.
Anyone relate?

The scene in Gandhi where everyone makes a 'secret vow in their hearts'.
And also when the men are being beaten down by mounted police and a new row keeps stepping up.
And where he makes salt.
'Sir' Ben Kingsley is an utter twat in real life but by god, that film is magical.

That scene is INCREDIBLE!

I've rewatched the scene in Braveheart (another actor whose personal life indicates he's not somebody I could abide, but he makes a good movie) in which the British have hired the Irish as mercenaries, but when the battle begins, they greet the Scots as brothers.
(I don't care how the movie mangles history, BTW. Save it for another discussion one day?)
Hmm, what else have I rewatched just a scene? Oh, I got one. The scene in Marathon Man when Janeway, the agent played by William Devane, tries to scare the Hispanic thugs away with his gun, and every one of them pulls his own gun.
The scene in Mysterious Skin immediately following Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character's sexual assault and beating, when he goes home and is quietly hysterical to avoid waking his roommate.
Maryn, who could think of lots more

OMG, the bit where Richard Gere turns up in uniform to Debra Winger's factory and carries....:) No, sorry, can't keep it up!
I do admit to watching the end of 'Gangs of New York', where the old land turns into the new, loads of times. It gives me shivers, though I'm not that wild about the rest of the film.
And the carnage scene in 'American Werewolf in London.' And the end of 'The Heiress' when Monty Clift is banging at the door and Catherine ignores him...fantastic.

You might want to be more specific there. British can refer to English, Welsh or Scots.
I also like the scene - "The prisoner has something to say..."
"F...f...freedom!"
and also...
"You have bled with Wallace! Now bleed with me!"

Some great ones all around. There are a few from Braveheart, many of which are posted here. I used to watch a lot the scene where WW realizes his "friend" is the knight who turned on Scotland. The look on his face as he stumbles to the ground is definitely good stuff.

I love the gun fight scene in The Matrix. I crank up my home theater and it sounds like a real battle. Explosive.
And as much as I dislike the first three (newer) Star Wars, I love to crank up the pod race, too.

When Cary Grant finds the poisoned Ingrid Bergman in bed and carries her down the grand staircase and out the door to safety in Notorious.
The singing of Le Marseilles scene in Casablanca.
The drowning of Marie in The Bourne Supremacy. Both beautiful and terrible at the same time.
Chevy Chase trying to make his Christmas lights light in NLCV.
Manderley burning, in Rebecca, with loony Mrs. Danvers inside.

King Kong vs. tyrannosaurs -- the rest of the film was kind of meh, but that extended scene was well worth repeat viewings.
The final Death Star scene in Star Wars IV.
The climax of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Richard Dreyfuss going up the mother ship in Close Encounter.
The last act of Cinema Paradiso -- heck, I'd watch the whole movie again. And again.

I adore the 'Evey Reborn' scene in V for Vendetta, and the 'God is in the rain' quote. For some reason that makes me bawl my eyes out every time. Love the final scene at Westminster as well.
Because I'm a bit weird - DJ's death scene in Event Horizon too :D
Oh, and any scene at all in the original The Italian Job but the mini cooper chase in particular.

"The Incredibles," when Frozone is putting on his aftershave and the city comes under attack... "Honeyyyyy... Where is my super suit?"
Ving Rhames and Nicholas Cage in "Bringing Out the Dead" The I.B. Bangin' scene
Steve Martin's first a tug o war with Lily Tomlin over his body ("All of Me")
When Genjuro finally comes home and is greeted by his wife's ghost ("Ugetsu")
The gold watch scene ("Pulp Fiction")
Chingachgook charging up a mountainside in pursuit of Magua--and subsequent climactic fight in "Last of the Mohicans"
"Yentl..." Actually the scene before the movie began in which Bugs and Elmer did a Wagnerian opera. That, "Oh, Bwoonhilde" song always cracks me up.
TV - way way wayyy too many to name.
The family dinner scene w/ Elliot Gould and Edward Norton squaring off in American History X
The Huey Lewis lecture in American Psycho
The opening 20 minute voiceover in Raizing Arizona
Marcellus Wallace telling Butch to take a dive in Pulp Fiction
"Am I a clown? Am I here to amuse you?" in Goodfellas
Jack Nicholson on the stand in A Few Good Men

The gunfight scene in Mr. and Mrs. Smith when they blow up the house. That blowed up real good.
THe scene where the giant robots attack the city in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. That just shakes the house.
Can you tell I like my movies to have lots of bass?

Like that movie or not, that race is just plain fun. :)

One of the best car chases ever put on film. Along with the chases in Bullit and The Seven Ups. I could watch all three over and over again.
Chevy Chase trying to make his Christmas lights light in NLCV.
Or cousin Ed emptying the RV septic tank into the storm drain. "Shitter's full!"
One scene I sometimes rewind and watch again is in Jurassic Park when the T-Rex first steps out onto the road in all his glory. Just - fargin' - awesome.

Those are some of my favorites too. I love the "What are you looking at, Punchy?" line to Butch from V Vega.
That family dinner scene with Elliot Gould is just so brutal and incredible. I think my favorite part is Derek's mom saying "he's just a boy without a father" and Elliot pulls his hand away and drives off. The music playing right then, with the American flag waving, is surreal, along with her sort of sitting down/bowing/collapsing in front of the house.
Holy ****, I've watched the clown/amuse you scene about 10000 times. I recently watched that whole scene again where Henry Hill is introducing all the mobsters to the viewers. I forgot how much it bugged me when he says, "Here's Jimmy two times, who is named that because he says everything two times." Then Jimmy says, "I'm gonna get the paper, get the paper." In college, maybe the "show don't tell" too fresh in my head from writing professors, I was so annoyed Scorcese kept that in. Did the viewer really need to be told, "who is named that b/c he says everything two times." A small thing maybe but watching that scene again recently made me even more aware of how unnecessary that "tell" was.

Actually, the scene where the kid taps on the glass of the aquarium is pretty impressive.

I thought Gene Kelly just danced in that one.

Angier (The Great Danton) performing the machine-assisted Transported Man trick in The Prestige. "Man's reach exceeds his imagination!" I love that line.
The guys at the fountains in Vegas after the heist is a success in Ocean's 11, with Claire De Lune playing in the background.
X2, Wolverine goes berserk and cleans house.
Return of the Jedi, Luke initially refuses to fight Vader, but then Vader mentions Leia and Luke hops down like "What'd you say about my sister?!" and proceeds to show Darth what's up...

Reservoir Dogs - 'Are you gonna bark all day, little doggie, or are ya gonna bite?'
Close Encounters - The Mothership Orchestra
The Great Escape - The Bike Chase
Predator - 'He didn't see me!'
The Italian Job - Nearly everything, but the best part: 'Now this means that we all have to work as a team. Which means, you do everything I say', and 'You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!'.
I aint got a number 1 - They're all goood.

I don't, generally, watch just scenes.
But if I'm watching the film, there are some scenes that I'll wind back to watch again.
I adore the 'Evey Reborn' scene in V for Vendetta, and the 'God is in the rain' quote. For some reason that makes me bawl my eyes out every time. Love the final scene at Westminster as well.V's final fight (from "Penny for the Guy" to Creedy's death) is one I tend to watch twice.
I also love John Hurt in that film. I could quite happily watch just his scenes ("We are being buried under the avalanche of your inadequicies, Mr Creedy!").
Although the swarm at Westminster's terribly evocative.
Quint's Indianapolis speech in Jaws.
Spoony going hand-to-hand with the werewolf in Dog Soldiers.
Pacino's speech to the school at the end of Scent of a Woman.

Don't forget the Northern Irish.
The scene in Henry V, Brannagh's version, where the battle of Agincourt is over and they're carrying the murdered children from the baggage train across the field.
Not forgetting his Band of Brothers speech before the battle.

Doing a film studies course, I often put films in just to check out one small section so I won;t count any of them...
However... I once had to put Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy in and put the scene with the Whale falling out the sky on a-b repeat. Even after 25 times it still hadn't gotten old.
The original watching of the DVD the first time I saw it. I had to pause the disc for nearly an hour while I tried to stop myself from laughing. I actually made myself ill from laughing.
Ah, the memories.
