Is there somewhere on the web where lawyers would give free legal advice for my book? Boy, I know that's probably something that won't happen, but thought I would ask.

There are several questions that I need answered regarding lawyers and their clients in order to continue with the book I'm writing. I'm kind of at a stand still.

I'm not sure from your post what you are asking for. Is it free legal advice, or just background/research type stuff? Seems like the second would be simple to come by--pick up the phone and call your local bar association and see if they can help you out. The first may be a little tougher.

I would call your local college with a law department and tell them of your predicament.

Or you can put a flyer at the college community center or a Barnes & Noble/Border near the college.

Either a professor or student would be glad to help and for free.

Sorry about that. I need to research some laws and how a person would be treated during different aspects of their arrest.

Thank you for your replies.

Thank you.

I'm going for two different states at this point, as I'm still not sure which I will use.

Hi Kelly,

If it involves the process of arrest, it sounds like you need law enforcement answers as opposed to legal beagle answers, or am I wrong? If so, my husband was a police officer in Washington State for thirteen years, and might be able to help.

Hope this helps,
