As long as there is an active discussion about how the wrong target (the USS Liberty on June 8, 1967) could have been hit repeatedly, I thought it might be useful to look some details of what can go wrong in a war zone.

This link analyzes an action from the early 1970s. Note that a lot of what happens is based on a faulty system based on an Israeli disaster (the sinking of the destroyer Eilat in Oct 1967). Note that eye witnesses can be very wrong at many levels about what they are seeing and why.

I didn't think it was directly relevent. It only gives a very general idea of things that can go wrong with radars and such.
