I will spoil nothing then. I taped it last night and watched it about midnight. So awesome.

I missed it because my wife wanted to watch the Jeff Dunham special on Comedy Central :(

You need to head over to the "is it ever appropriate to use physical violence on a family member" thread, pronto, buddy. You may have a contender.

(I'm just kidding, of course, but for God's sake... the title scroll alone had me in stitches!)

I thought it was brilliant! My son had to explain the Robot Chicken reference.

Wasn't it awesome?!

I'm a huge Family Guy fan anyway and that episode was way too fun. I actually had to explain the Robot Chicken reference to my hubby and kids.

You can see the robot chicken version on youtube, by searching (appropriately enough) for "robot chicken" "star wars"

Basically, if you know Dr. Evil's son (Oz, from Buffy)... That guy and his friends badly animate action figures and dolls, and do parodies and one-joke comedy sketches with them late nights on Cartoon Network. It's pretty damn funny stuff.

I concur.

If agreeing about this episode were similiar to both of us turning our keys, and it was 1983, the missiles would be heading towards the Soviet Union right now.

(approximation):

"...go out and rent Gia. She gets totally naked and kisses another girl. I almost fainted."

Tivo is calling!

I wanted to watch last night, but also had a couple bottles of nap juice.

I started laughing right away. I was already hooked at: It is a time of civil war and renegade paragraphs floating through space.

I doubt that's an exact quote, but I was having way too much fun to try and memorize it.

Seth Green also does the voice of Chris on Family Guy and Seth McFarlane did many of the voices in the Robot Chicken Star Wars episode - that's what made the ending bickering between Chris and Peter so hilarious. The entire episode was just fantastic - they covered the entire movie! I never thought I'd live to see an era when the Simpsons stunk week after week and Family Guy was one of the funniest shows on TV.

ETA: I loved the Airplane! references too.

couldn't agree more,...great episode and hand it to III for mentioning my fav reference - Airplane

Seth Green was the creator of Robot Chicken, wasn't he? Or at least executive producer or somethin'.

and Family Guy was one of the funniest shows on TV.

It's been one of the funniest since it came on the air.

Brilliant from day one.

Thank you.

Loved. It.

Funniest thing Chevy Chase has done in 20 years.

"Simply Red, standing by."

I don't normally watch Family Guy, my dad actually does. I discovered this after being ousted from the dvd player by my parents. It was a real hoot.

It was awesome! And since Mr. Shwebb and I are a fan of "Robot Chicken," it was hilarious, for us.

My husband's pointed to Peter doing the "Star Wars" theme and said, "THAT'S what I want for a ringtone for my cellphone!"

That first season sucked on ice, but they finally hit their stride.

Thought it was a great episode, very funny. Opening scrawl through space hilarious! That old guy (played Obi Wan) still freakin' creeps me out though every time!

As to The Simpsons, I have to hand it to them. They've come back a little ways from stinkville over the last few seasons. This year's season premier actually had me laughing.

Damn it, I missed the premier of the Simpsons!

It's funny, but I'm kind of tired of the Family Guy now (and how come Meg had such a non-existing part in the episode?).

I can't even tell you how many times I've sat up with Family Guy DVDs a half a dozen friends and played a Family Guy drinking game. Just be careful not to add "Chris says something that isn't even remotely funny" to the list. You'll be drunk 5-10 seconds into his first appearance.

I need to see the Star Wars episode... My roommate wanted to watch something else, so I didn't get to see!

Missed the Family Guy episode, but I'll catch it on DVR this weekend.

I missed it because my wife wanted to watch the Jeff Dunham special on Comedy Central :(

FYI, you can watch Dunham's latest show (the whole thing, not the clipped TV version) instantly on NetFlix - which I did after forgetting what time it started on CC.

Because there's only one woman in Star Wars. Except for Aunt Beru.
