I wouldn't wear them, but that's just me. However, the boots he gave Bush aren't illegal, so this thread's misleading. But you have to read the entire article to find that out.

Hey, a lot of my neighbors dress like that. Quilled ostrich (the bumpy part of the hide) is all the rage. And my wife's got a pair made from some kind of non-endangered Republican lizard. But nobody, absolutely nobody, appreciates how much the man sacrifices for us. Those pointy toes pinch and the stacked heels make you walk gimpy. I like ropers myself, especially when one actually gets on a horse--something which, if Fox can be believed, Bush rarely does because he's afraid of horses . Some cowboy.

Well, aside from the Presidential Seal and the writing, they're identical to a pair of mine. They're the most comfortable footwear I own.
