Yeah....he's been saying on Hannity's radio show for a while now that he would run if the country let him know that he "had" to run.

What if he gets $20 mil? Does he run for Senate? Is $10 mil for the House? And $5 mil for City Council?

How about this...if I send $5, will he go away?

Very interesting. I still have a tough time getting past Newt's dumping his wife when she was hospitalized, with cancer. He is a voracious reader and book reviewer though at Amazon.com, perhaps he should stick to that.

$$

Thirty million really isn't very much money, and he'll get matching funds, of course.

Really, do you know anyone out there running with less than thirty million? Seems like a reasonable request, to me, no matter who the candidate is.

Thirty million really isn't very much money, and he'll get matching funds, of course.

Only if he applies for them, and thereby agrees to the rules and restrictions involved. Not one of the other major candidates from either party is doing that.

Here are the official campaign contribution figures for all Democrats and Republicans officially declared, as of the end of June:

http://www.fec.gov/DisclosureSearch/mapApp.do

Note that the "Thompson" listed is not Fred Thompson, who hadn't declared by then. It is Tommy Thompson, who has since dropped his campaign.

Newt can't win. He needs to dry up and blow away--imo, of course.

It would be nice if anyone who could win wasn't a self serving idiot. Not that Newt isn't.

That's what is sad about it all.........there will be no surprise.

It's like waiting to see a UFO but knowing you won't. :)

Give me thirty million and I'll run. Who the heck wouldn't?

Sort of an asinine statement from Newt, IMO.

Oy. I was in the grocery store yesterday and one of the tabloids had a gi-normous headline about the mad affair Bush and Condi are having. That about sums it all up.

I can't wait until Dec. '08 - by then it'll all be over...
Uhm. that would be next year. Sorry, but you'll just have to suffer another 14 + months like the rest of us.

Just think of all the mischief things he can accomplish before leaving office. I'm thrilled. I can't wait for the movie.
