Okay, you see it on medical shows. It's like a little thing they clip over the end of a person's finger. Is this a heart-rate monitor? What is it called? Is it JUST the finger clippie thing, or do you also need an electrode or whatever on your chest?

I don't know what the official name of the device may be but it measures the levels of oxygen in the blood.

It's a pulse oximeter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_gas_monitor).

It measures a persons pulse and oxygen levels. I've always referred to it as a pulse-ox.
