Talk about blowing away the stereotype beauty queen.

How will the other contestants answer the question: "What would you do to improve the world?"

She's got my vote.

Now that's an accomplished young woman that little girls can look up to. Beats the usual brain-dead bimbos on parade. Very cool.

I don't know. I find this weird. It reminds me of a friend of mine, dead serious, speaking of her time in the US Army. She told me that during her stint, the fad was colored mascara. She liked how the green went with her fatigues.

Methinks somebody's not taking their job too seriously. Honestly, I know I'm in the minority, but if we're going to do beauty pageants, lets just make them about who looks best in a swimsuit and can walk the swishiest in really high heels and ball gowns. I can live with that.

Pageant winners = role models just never computes in my head. I have nothing against it for entertainment. Everyone likes looking at pretty people. I just don't care how a rouged mouth under a sparkly tiara would endeavor to change the world. Tell me when you're teeth aren't varnished with vaseline and your boobs aren't bound into muffintops with fashion tape. Oh, and no sash reminding us all what State you're from. Until then, I can't hear you.

I wonder if she'll use an M-16 as an accessory?

I can't find that Blues Brothers picture of Carrie Fisher with the M-16. Ooh, sexy.
