A man struck and injured a two-year-old girl in Austin, Texas. He got out of the car to check on her, and then a crowd started beating him up. His passenger then got out of the car to help him, and he was beaten to death! Police say as many as 20 men were involved in the beating and that weapons were used. They are now looking for witnesses. But despite all the people involved, I'm sure "no one saw a thing."
This occurred near an area where a festival was being held, so there may have been as many as 3,000 people in the area. And I wouldn't be surprised if at least some in the crowd of 20 men had been drinking.
What were they thinking?! By the way, the little girl is fine -- except for the fact that she may have witnessed horrible violence. And even if she didn't see it, someday she will learn about this. What a burden that could be. :(
On top of all that, apparently the man was Hispanic and the crowd was African-American. (The festival celebrated the emancipation of slaves in Texas.) This may or may not have been a factor, but because most of the accounts are leaving that out, it's going to become a factor in this story, even if it wasn't. By leaving this information out, because they want to be PC or whatever, all the reports are doing is creating more fuel for hate groups to use. This might be another story that will blow up on the Internet (and over the airwaves) because the media chose not to state all the facts. When they try to ignore the facts, they always come out, and end up with eggs on their faces.
