Today's post on my writing blog was a bit of celebration for me, detailing how I broke out of my writer's depression (it went further than simple writer's block) and ended up starting a writing contest for young scribes. A little longer than what I usually write, but it felt really good.

Hi, Everyone:

I updated both of my blogs. At my blog space at www.firefox.org/news (http://www.firefox.org/news), dedicated to independent comics and their creators, I interviewed the husband/wife team of Mark Ellis and Melissa Martin-Ellis about the rewards of creating comics with your spouse.

At www.propertycrossroads.com (http://www.propertycrossroads.com), my real estate blog, I wrote about the unending debate about whether it's better to buy or rent.

My blog entry gives an overview of the movie Pursuit of Happyness, and then based on an interview with the actual guy, Chris Gardner, I go on to talk about how enacting and acting can help you get in touch with events and write about them.

I posted to my memoir in progress (http://www.hadabrain.net/)--at last--based on a flashback that occurred today. I really wanted to capture it, because it gave me some more information about the accident. As is often the case, I don't recall the actual accident at all. So even though it's much laterin time, this post gives me some interesting information.

I love blogging! I have learned so much internet HTML stuff - still don't know what HTML stands for, but I know what it means and I have alot of fun with it.

I have several blogs and what I usually do is write articles/posts as often as I can and keep them as DRAFTS. Then once or twice a week, PUBLISH a post/article. Then I send my mailing list people notice of new content and also on some groups I am on.

In watching my traffic on my visitor counter, I have seen that I get more traffic on weekends, than weekdays, so I started PUBLISHING on Fridays. Thinking about it, I figure if I send the notice on a week day, they might not have time to go read it right then, and probably forget to come back when they have time. So I just do it once a week - on Fridays and that way it seems my traffic is cornered on the weekends. Works for me!

I hear they say write about anything, there's always someone out there with the same interests. But sounds like a good place to start - blog about your time in the mountains and maybe focus on being without the internet! These days, it seems it is quite a problem to be without internet - everything is there these days. Write about how you dealt with not being online or using alll the advantages of the WWW and how you accomodated not having or how you realized you could live without it! Or maybe you couldn't! Keep me posted. i'd like to hear about that!

I thought the same thing and used to post Monday and Thursday. One of my blogs is free instruction for making scrapbooks, a fund raiser fro my grand daughters school to free swap scrapbook supplies for box tops and the others are bout cooking, freebies, get paid to and others. I figured people was read in the eveings after work, kids to bed, whatever. But in watching my traffic stats, I didn't get much traffic, so I gave some thought and figured maybe the srappers don't have time to scrap during hte week, so they wait till weekend and so i switched to Fridays so the posts would be in the Inbox on Friday - ready for the weekend! So far, it is working for me.

I blogged last night about how an acquaintance referred to me as her unemployed friend. Direct quote: “Julia is unemployed… or she does a little bit of home business.”

Actually, there were 2 posts last night. One was sort of apology and explanation for not blogging as much, and the other was what I referred to above. Here they are:

Best of intentions (http://www.temlynwriting.com/blog/?p=189) and Work at Home = Unemployed? (http://www.temlynwriting.com/blog/?p=187)

Both at Mrs. Write Right, Word Therapist (http://www.temlynwriting.com/blog/)

Have a great weekend! :)

I love the poetry challenges, which have inspired half my recent entries. I'm still waiting to hear word about my novels, but don't want to post there until I have news for certain.

I updated with a short snippet about Clip 'n' Go gum/mint keychains. They look pretty cool and I'd never seen them before, so great for those mint/gum addicts, hehe.
