Today I was going to write a couple of thoughtful posts on the IBS blog. Divergent thinking took hold and I read a blogger's blog known as DOSH DOSH!. (http://www.doshdosh.com/)

She (I think) suggested, as a way to promote one's blog, to write a press release, and send it to PRWEB; (http://www.prweb.com/) So, diverging some more, I went to visit the place to see if I would want to write something to be on it, and get a link back to my site. When, aha! divergence over, there was a press release on IBS, the subject (niche) of the blog for which I began the day intending to write.

It was a nice press release that picked up on several topics I had been dealing with, so I discussed it, and copied the whole thing. Instant post, more or less. See the result at http://www.formytummy.com/

I also did some theme hacking, to get the "pages" template to accommodate an Amazon store for foods and other products not carried in local stores.

Have a good blogging week!

Two new posts today, both about books. One is more of a reflection, a memory from years gone by. The other is listing the books I ordered today so I'll have something to read when I come back from my vacation in Florida near the end of the month. I also ask for book recommendations. I find it's the best way to find both popular and lesser known works, usually better quality than if I were to just select at random (which tends to take days of deciding anyways).

I updated everything but office stuffer and offbeat -- both of where I'm headed now.

Why did I quote Lavinia? Well, funny you should ask. But if you haven't seen her blog I'd go today she's got a great post for bloggers new and old to the game -- very useful tips. And no, I was not paid by said blogger to say this. I just happened to really enjoy her post today. You will too.

I think we should see more of us pumping each others blogs; it seems a good double use of this thread.

Interesting thoughts posted on my blog. A good read! I hope so.:D

Every once in a while I try and come with a question out of the blue and I try to answer it the best of my ability. Usually later, it stirs up an idea to write or type more.;)

Basically it's a questioning this life and reality and so called Hell. A kind of mix between, Make you think new avenues never thought before or a guide to live better havent decided yet.

Theres my update!

On my main blog (http://tri-bunny.blogspot.com), I wrote about going to garage sales, a final run through what has been "my" neighborhood for more than 20 years, and a visit to a cemetery.

I wrote a post on something I stumbled over on the web--the idea that a somatic illness is all in someone's head. Worse, the notion that those who are enduring the troubles are mentally ill because therapy can make a somatic illness less symptomatic and more manageable. The last clause is true; the combination of conclusion -- mental illness -- and proof, therapy helps, is faulty thinking. Therapies - hypnosis, cognitive therapy, and such - work without requiring that a person be mentally ill (read crazy). In fact, the saner one is the better they work. See my post on <a href="http://www.formytummy.com">http://www.selfhelpforibs.com/ </a> "For My Tummy," and join the fray!

I also actually added the moving, bring-a-Kleenex post that I promised yesterday, to process.memoirista.com (http://process.memoirista.com/)

Tropical storm Erin (or the very intense remnants thereof) hits Oklahoma. Flooding and other mayhem, with some of my own reportage thrown in. Don't miss it!

Finally updated, after almost a month: an essay inspired by a RP comment from our very own MacAllister...

My blog has now moved to the travelogue portion of the year. I'm in Hawai'i and trying to post every day.

Well, "Yes" for today. After a "blue screen of death" problem yesterday, I wrote badly and decided not to post what I'd written. I've broken my record of a post per day for August :-[

Today, on the other hand, I wrote some comments on others' blogs and forums, and wrote a post on http://www.selfhelpforibs.com/ (For My Tummy.com). I've also begun developing, offline, a catalog of other blogs' calls for comments--I'm interested in the ways they do it, and the incentives they offer.

Took a break from my series and wrote a fun piece called, "No Parachute Desired." If you're discouraged, this one's for you!

Yay Virginia! Keep it up. Or go back and revise. ;-} I'm in that category and keep thinking, "Someday I'll take a day off and revise a lot of this." Right now I'm too busy making it to 200, and 300, and 400, and then the book!

You've reached a considerable milestone representing a lot of work. Yay, Virginia!

Karen, I checked into your blog earlier today, before the "No Parachute Desired" piece appeared. I was so impressed I added you to my process blog, and came back here to say "Oh, yes, I posted to another blog, too."
The "No Parachute Desired" piece is something I will print out and put over my computer. You bring encouragement to us all.

Today was a light blogging day for me -- I posted twice, but one was just a link to another article I wrote elsewhere and one was just me ranting about the evils of Comic Sans (http://www.thursdaybram.com/?p=55).

I complained about how weekends suck for bloggers, complained about some kids at the local library, linked to a site that adds fuel to my complaints about Google, and will probably add a drabble before the day is through, just so I'll have one post today unrelated to complaining.

Did I update my blog today?Yup. A fairly short and easy post, introducing my readers to a patient advocacy organization, and encouraged them to fill out the extensive survey available on the site.

I revamped my sidebar, adding my favorite funny clips including skits/comedy from Mitch Hedberg, Ben Stiller & Owen Wilson, and Justin T. and Jimmy F. doing The Barry Gibb Show.

Also check out my post "The Man with Dirty Hands."

I'm going decade-by-decade (though not in order), and from this one you can reach lists for several other decades (e.g. 1940s, 1950s).

Thanks memoirista! That is quite a compliment coming from you! I am honored to be posted above your computer. Now could you pay me for it. How about $25 everytime you look at it? That sounds fair to me. Let's take a vote on it...yep everyone in my family voted...$25 it is then! I accept Visa, Mastercharge, Paypal, check, cash....your first-born's piggy bank full of change...

But seriuosly-thanks!

Well, yes, Karen Alaniz-Fisher, if you could put the post onto a coffee mug, or a t-shirt, I'd be very happy to pay you for it. Since there's actually only air over my computer, posting it there is metaphorical. Ah, I know. I can put your post on a dual screen with an old monitor, in back and to the right of my laptop.

You're right, though, that it should earn you some income, since I'm reading and rereading it for inspiration. Does Lulu do posters?

Anyway, I also updated my blog today, this time with a glossary of terms that I'll be using in the next big post on an ongoing topic--fiber, as in "high-fiber diet."

Oh, and yet another personal best in the day gone past, for number of readers of http://www.selfhelpforibs.com/ (ForMyTummy)

Working from home (http://mystiguymon.blogspot.com/2007/08/working-from-home.html) - informational post.

I also have to state - the interview with Josh is fantastic on Jenfreedom's "Offbeat Homes." I would definitely check it out!

Also, keep your eye on my blog as I'll be venturing out to take more photo's of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and posting them soon!
