I started my blog Food for your mind in late January and have totalled 98 posts since, so that's about one post a day. Some days i post 2, other days i post none, but i try to be pretty regular.
This morning, i started a new blog, which is an extension of my online radio station, this is a blog with music reviews. My aim is to post 5 reviews a week, let's see how it goes ;)

I read an interesting article on line today from The New York Times, Are Book Reviewers Out of Print? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/02/books/02revi.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1 (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/02/books/02revi.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1)
After reading the following two quotes . . .
“While I’m all for the literary bloggers, and I think the more people that write about books the better, they’re not necessarily as regionally focused as knowledgeable, experienced long-term editors in the South or Midwest or anywhere where the most important writers come from,” said Sam Tanenhaus, the editor of The New York Times Book Review.
And then there was this quote from Richard Ford, the Pulitzer Prize (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/subjects/p/pulitzer_prizes/index.html?inline=nyt-classifier)-winning novelist. “Newspapers, by having institutional backing, have a responsible relationship not only to their publisher but to their readership,” Mr. Ford said, “in a way that some guy sitting in his basement in Terre Haute maybe doesn’t.”
. . . I was left with an overwhelming urge to post my very first book review J
Be forewarned; I am not as regionally focused as knowledgeable, experienced long-term editors in the South and Midwest. And, I am not some guy sitting in his basement in Terre Haute either. But, as Martha Steward would say that is probably a good thing.

These kinds of comments really piss me off. But in a sense, it shows the mainstream media's defensiveness towards blogging that they always have to attack it.
Really, they're just shoving out the same elitist argument about normal people being stupid and just coz those journos are pathetic enough to mimic the words those fat cats running the company, doesn't make them more 'experienced.'

Added what I think is a really funny drabble today -and a bit different -- told exclusively with dialogue. No narrative at all, so you totally have to imagine the scene. Basically, anyone who has worked in a kitchen or knows a chef will be laughing their heads off. Others will probably be scratching their heads and saying, "huh?".
And for all who had trouble commenting in the past, you can do so now. My apologies for any difficulties anyone had.

I updated today.
I'm posting a tell-all. Don't ask me why. Actually, go ahead. I feel I need to to be able to be honest to myself. Number one, this story does need to get out, regardless whether you believe the events really took place, or more importantly, my interpretation of the events. I'm still learning blogger, so I'll try to organise the posts somehow so they (the biographical posts) don't interfere with the more random posts.

What, on LJ? The same way you do here. I always use the Rich text editor. Highlight what you want to link, then click the little link button at the top of the toolbar, beside the font size drop down box. Looks like a little planet earth with an oval infront of it. (On AW it's below the smilie drop down box.) You'll get a pop-up box, where you enter the url of the place you want to link to, and click ok.
If you want, you can also do it in HTML mode, like this <a href="http://www.YOUR LINK HERE.com"> TEXT </a>
Almost all blog software with a Rich Text/WYSIWYG editor have the same icon. Even my freewebs website editor has it.
