When writing a scene with an audible countdown, is it cool to put ' A countdown starts from 10, ' and then put the '3,2,1' in at a suitable point, or do you have to put every number from 10 to zero as a v.o. in between dialogue and action?:shrug

Does it matter what numbers are being called? I mean if it's just the gist of the count down (e.g. they're escaping the building as the countdown begins), you can just describe it.

If it's important to the story (trying to defuse a bomb or something), then probably need to spell it out, as it appears on screen the way you want it, because the timings of the 3, 2 and 1 are important.
