Another margin question

Im using a Word template and it has two set of margins for scene action: .5 inch from the left and .75 inch from the left. What is each margin tab really for? Which is the correct for FADE IN and slug lines? For US scripts.

I think one is called "Film scene heading " and the other "Film scene action" which I thought both started on the same margin tab.

Blue - it sounds like your template is screwy.

You are correct - both the action and scene headings should start at the same place.

They should both start 1 1/2 from the left edge of the paper (you need room for the the holes in the paper). If you set the left margin for the document at 1 1/2 then you won't need to use tabs at all for scene headings or action blocks.

You can change the perameters for both by going into STYLE on the format menu. If your not sure how to do that, you might want to look for a better template.

Everything's cool. The template made the ruler at the top look odd so I misread it.
