... Ogden Nash?

I was just re-reading my "Trashery of Ogden Nashery" (price on cover, thirty-five cents), and came across an old bus ticket from '00 with a poem scribbled on it. Apparently, I had just viewed the Amazonia exhibit (at the zoo, I think) and read Ogden Nash in the same 24-hour-period:

Begonias
Don't grow in the Amazonia
But in my gardonia
Behind my homia

I just read some of his stuff for the first time b/c of your thread...the ant and the boy from baltimore...

reminds me of Dorothy Parker and Shel Silverstein. Not trying to be "high art" but good at what they do...funny, witty, at times kitschy but not the kind that makes you squirm.

I am probably definitely rushing to judgment on Ogden (and for that matter possibly Shel and Dot), since i haven't read THAT much of their stuff, but thanks for getting me to look up who he is!
