"The Hazards of Self-Googling" by Jenna Glatzer.

Paranormal romance author Cathy Clamp really isn't bothered by bad reviews. She wants to see whatever's out there but thinks most writers don't.

Cathy is a moderator here at AWWC. Kudos to both Jenna and Cathy! Cool to see your names in print like that!

I *love* seeing familiar names in print, too! :)

I self-googled once and came up with a "naughty" story written for a site that used my name in the plot . . . I didn't really think I had a popular name, so it threw me off (Especially when I read what my name was doing! Eek!).

I've also found MANY sites with material they shouldn't have posted without permission. Some have taken it down, others haven't . . . it's been an on again, off again situation since 1999.

I saw the article too - it's great! Of course, when I self-google, there are 5 pages of actresses and others that trump anything I have on the sixth page. I've thought about using my middle initial, but I really LIKE my name:Shrug:

That's very cool.

My name is unique enough that when I ego google, all the results are about me or someone I know.

I'm disturbed by that, Julie. I mean it just seems so callus to try me for 14 days and be able to abandon me. *sigh* What ever happened to committment???
